iSmart Update to 3.0

It would be helpful if posters with app problems to state what phone(s) they are using to see if there is a consistent problem. The app works with my android Moto g84 5g.

My MY22 Trophy has not had any software updates other than the mandated SCUK001 and SC077 since I bought it in April 2023.

Just yesterday ismart came up with 'token expired' which means you have to log back in, I think it's a security measure. However, after loading the app I had to renew the password which involved a verification code that lasted ten minutes. It wouldn't accept a password generated by my iPhone as there were dashes in it, which it didn't like. As I attempted to delete these dashes, and with finger trouble on the small keys, it timed out on me. This happened several times. I decided to make up my own password and I managed to get logged in within the allotted time. In doing so it revealed an update to the layout. It seemed to be quicker as well. The version

I posted the above on another thread, ismart issues. I checked my mini iPhone 12 version and is 3.1.0 I don't see an open window warning box It does seem to be quicker though.

Opened it yesterday to lock the car and noticed the two extra tabs next to the locking buttons.

My Android updated by itself yesterday – knew nothing about it till I checked to see what the SOC was this morning … but as usual, it was fast asleep having been left for 36 hours – so my first knowledge of update was this (albeit in the white version initially).

So, whilst it all looks much ‘prettier’ now (and I haven’t had time to investigate what’s new) at least MG has now acknowledged at the outset that the app is still not fit for its main purpose (for me anyway) – of being able to check occasionally on its health whilst away frequently, and also finding where it is located in a large airport carpark. It’s totally useless and ridiculous in that respect. Surely they can build-in a secure method (with secondary security links if necessary (boffins wade in here please!)) of waking the car up from ‘deep sleep’ from a distance?

My car is doing that this morning too. When I got in the car to see it was okay it popped up every error message it has. Makes me wonder if something has overheated which leads to this. Just tried 5 times again now and on 5th go it worked fine.

Mine updated automatically last night also, works just fine. I don't need the new functionality but what was there before still works well.

Mine stopped connecting after the update. After fiddling about for a while, I gave up and left it alone for an hour and a half. Then, next time I checked it was mysteriously working again.

Managed to unbind, then rebind and now everything is working again, only thing is the Climate and Seat Heating buttons take you to exactly the same screen so seems pointless having both

The seat heating section gives you a one press option to put the driver's seat to high heating by pressing the seat icon as well as better control of the seat heating. I think they just left the seat heating software in with the original HVAC software. Mind you, some people may need cabin and seat heating together.

Mines just updated, gave me a token expired message, and now just won't connect to the car. How frustrating. I can sign in ok and actually my battery % is correct etc.

Tried the unbind rebind and it worked . Good shout.

Just noticed the apps been updated you can now select defrost front and rear screens, as well as a couple of other changes it’s getting better.

I hope they add scheduled cabin heating/cooling as well someday. That'd be a much more useful featur than scheduled battery heating.

I have a ZS. I like the new look of the iSMART app (and I have reverted to the white skin), but I am a bit puzzled by this. Any ideas? The vehicle definitely does not start up when I have activated AC from the app.

My guess is it may be trying to tell you your 12v is low.

@Kithmo, do you not get one if the messages @Susanna and I have posted when you start the AC and/or seat heating?
