Not to go off off on a tangent too much but it was humans who messed about with sheep breeding that caused them to have too much wool and need it to be shorn, before we started doing that their coats looked more like goats.Nature throws up lots of symbiotic relationships between species. For humans who evolved to be hairless and sheep who have far too much of the stuff , and are relieved when its shorn from their backs is just one. A bit of a mistake on the sheep's part is that they also happen to be tasty, maybe in the future we might have man eating ovine to redress the imbalance.![]()
You mean they could have short circuited the process and we could have been cosy all winter?? There is a breed of sheep popular in Aust that are only breed for their meat, the wool comes off in handfuls or caught on fences or trees ......You mean they could have short circuited the process and we could have been cosy all winter?? Shear delight![]()
As usual I was using a bit of poetic licence, I would not go on about humans messing with sheep breeding , some might take it the wrong way!! especially those who keep a pair of wellies in the boot of their car.!! if you know what I mean ??Not to go off off on a tangent too much but it was humans who messed about with sheep breeding that caused them to have too much wool and need it to be shorn, before we started doing that their coats looked more like goats.
