Just found out I could get an xpower instead of my trophy for a few thousand more

Feels a little tempting to basically half the acceleration for a bit extra although I would lose around 40 miles of range.
As an ex X-power owner I'd say go for it!

The fun you will have in Sport mode racing away from exotic German cars that cost 4 times as much. :)

One thing though, turning circle is reduced with the front motor, but bugger that!

How much more? Have you checked the cost of insurance?

This is me being sensible, I'd still do it! :)
Yes it seems to be 300-500 more which sounds like a lot but my insurance is fairly expensive so it isn't too much. I'm tempted to keep my mg4 for a year first (till October) so I can be sure and that's when my insurance runs out on this car too.

It's worth it, sod waiting just g for it, life's too short!!!!! :)

I imagine it'll actually be a few thousand more than I think though because I won't get the price the Trophy is selling for from a dealership though.
Had a look at what is currently being shown on the Affinity scheme, prices are reviewed quarterly and can change but if you joined the MG Owners Club which costs £53 for the first year you'd be eligible for these after 3 months, of course you my qualify already depending on circumstances.

IF your happy to say, what figures are you being quoted?

I am looking at used, there is a massive difference in value just by getting one a year or two old. My current one was 2 years old when I got it.

Got you, nowt wrong with used, what figures you getting?
I can’t remember exactly but I saw a 74 plate xpower with similar mileage to my trophy for about 2-3k more than I paid for mine, obviously selling mine I wouldn’t get as much as I paid back but the price doesn’t seem to have gone down much as I only bought it around 5 months ago when I paid around 16.8k. The thing I love most about my mg4 is accelerating so getting one with a faster acceleration would be quite enjoyable and I imagine I can transfer the frunk I got for it. (Not 100% sure about that)

Been there, done that, and I'm glad I did it, but now I'm so much more sensible than I was a year ago, so I've gone for economy and range. 😂
For the same price as an xpower I could get an extended range trophy and have the extra mileage instead of speed but I don’t think I travel far enough to do that.

I was actually looking at getting an xpower a few years after getting my trophy but since October they seem to have gone down thousands and I never checked the insurance cost before as I assumed with it being 3.8s 0-60 it would be expensive but it doesn’t look it.

Have you got figures from such sites as We Buy any Car? When we made the change dealers couldn't get near what WBAC quoted and ended up selling to them.
