We are on holiday and paid just park me meet and greet for long term car park. We drove to stanstead and a guy from just park me was supposed to take our car to long term car park.

We keep getting alerts that our car is being moved. It is being used everyday and we are keeping evidence.

Have tried emailing them and calling but can’t hold of anyone.

Now I’m researching just park me and finding loads of people complaining about this and even having parking tickets and speeding traffic violations ect letters weeks later.

They probably didn’t think our MG4 has such a good tracking feature.

What shall I do please has anyone got experience with this sort of thing?

You need to raise it with them first. Don't just blast straight to court as you'd need to properly draft your particulars of claim. (I know you're annoyed, but look at this when you have a clear head).

As a minimum I'd be expecting a refund for the parking contract (as they've clearly breached it), plus a specific contact name and address for you to use should any subsequent notices come by post (for speeding, parking tickets etc.).

Is it being taken off site or is it just closer to the exit ready for return. I guess the gom would be a good indication and the find my car would reveal if someone is using it to go home.

To make a small claim you will need to assign a monetary value to your “loss”.

You sure its not just being moved in the parking area?

I guess you could also add to the reviews here

By inference, Meet and Greet + Park and Ride is for those who are not concerned about their vehicle's security

They will just tell you that it had to be moved around the parking or had to be taken to another parking facility as they were so full.
They will then tell you that it’s in the contract you signed , but never read.

REPORT IT AS STOLEN.

If it is supposed to be parked securely they are using it without your consent.

Call the police and tell them.

There is an offence of 'taking without owners consent' commonly known as TWOCing.

It's concerning to hear about the situation with "Just Park Me" during your holiday. Here are some steps you can take to address this issue:

  1. Document Everything: Continue to gather all evidence of your car being used without your permission. This includes tracking data, timestamps, and any alerts you receive. Also, keep records of all your communications attempts with "Just Park Me".
  2. Contact Your Insurance Company: Inform your car insurance provider about the situation. They need to know that the car is being used without your consent, as this may affect your coverage, especially in case of any damages or liabilities caused during this period.
  3. Report to the Police: Since your vehicle is being used without your consent, this is a matter of unauthorised use. Contact the police and report the situation. They can investigate the misuse of your vehicle and provide you with a crime reference number.
  4. Contact Trading Standards: Trading Standards can help if a business has acted unfairly or dishonestly. They can also provide advice on what to do next. You can contact them via the Citizens Advice consumer helpline.
  5. Prepare for Disputes: Be prepared to dispute any unjust fines or tickets. As you have evidence of the car's misuse, this should support your claims.
  6. Legal Advice: Consider consulting a solicitor who specialises in consumer rights or motoring law. They can provide tailored advice and, if necessary, represent you in actions against the company.
  7. Social Media and Reviews: While direct resolution is preferable, raising awareness about your experience on social media and review platforms can pressure the company to respond. It also warns others about the potential issues with the service.
  8. Financial Ombudsman Service: If your payment was made via a credit card and the amount was over £100, you might be able to make a claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. This holds the credit card provider jointly liable for any breach of contract or misrepresentation.
Taking these actions should help you to resolve the situation and potentially prevent further misuse of your vehicle.

This is why I just don't trust meet and greet. I will only use Valet parking that use on site storage. That way you know its never going to leave site and thus not much point in driving it.

Worth checking the terms and conditions - they will probably say they were moving it between sites no doubt so you will need to prove exact there its moving to and from etc.

I suspect all you will ever get is a refund and at most compensation for any millage coverage above although many of them have in their terms that the storage can be a long distance so your semi agreeing to it being driven potentially over 100 miles for example

I never, ever drive to the airport and leave my car in any form of car park. Always use public transport or get someone else to drop you off. I would never, ever hand over my keys to a stranger, especially valet parking or anything similar where my car gets driven by someone who I don't know.

How do you set up alerts on your car ?

How have you linked the Home Assistant app to the MG (does it have an API link)?
Thanks, looks very useful. Where do I find this Home Assistant?
