One of the first replies to this thread was exactly regarding the average speeds shown, and this was my answer (to @NLMGSAN) at the time:

Lots of time wasted sitting in traffic, dropping the kid at school, going to the factory then to the office (my work involves being in two different places almost everyday). Even the manoeuvres needed for parking the car in the apartment building garage takes some time.

Also, because of the way the car turns itself on (simply by placing your bum on the seat); all this will result in it being on (with the speed average dropping...) for long periods of time, while static.

At least that's what happens with me, and as a result the average speed quickly comes down.

This answer still stands today.

The only type of driving that I'll do that I consider slow is when doing long-ish journeys on the motorway - in those cases, I'll usually set the speed to 100 km/h (62 mph).
Other than that, I usually drive a bit more on the quick/aggressive side in urban environments (meaning quick acceleration on junctions and roundabouts; not necessarily high speeds) and on A and B-roads I usually drive around 80~90 km/h (50~56 mph) whenever possible.
Also, almost every week I'll do around 40 km (25 miles) on motorway with a fixed speed of 140 km/h (87 mph).
