OK so here’s the thing. I have an MG4 standard range one year old. I’m delighted with it and have got used to the Lane assist ball ache!! However my son just had a test drive of a MG4 X power beast. He said the LA was off permanently. The dealer didn’t know how or what to do. I’ve just had the first service and my dealer said there were no updates for this so need to know why the X power thing ??

It sometimes happens - thems the vagaries of computers and interconnected systems.

e.g. I had a Dragon32 computer when I was about 15. On my colour portable TV it gave black text on an orange background; on any other TV it was black on green, same as anyone else's Dragon32 was black on green on my TV ... go figure. :)

Obviously they are trying to sell the car as much as possible, and having LKA permanently off helps. If it's a demo car there are no repercussions for turning it off permanently.

The consumer will of course feel deceived and pissed off to the maximum when he/she finds out it cannot be turn off permanently, so the seller will repeat the "You'll get used to it" mantra.
