Lock-in pin stuckp

Our 3 year old MGZS, long Range stopped working at public charge point. AA man found the lock-in pin on charger was stiff, re released it with end of spanner.
Anyone else had this problem?

You mean public charger cable had one pin stuck that had to be released? Not on the car?

Do you mean that there was something on the plug (the gun thing) that was stuck and it could be released with a spanner?

If so, did you see: a) how it was done and b) what size spanner it was?

Should we all start taking spanners with us on road trips?

Must have been an AC charger that wouldn't release the AC charge cable. DC don't have locking pins.

Type 2 connectors have a hole where a pin is inserted to lock them in place.

Both the car and the "charger" will have a locking mechanism and as soon as they have done their handshake and agree that the car can be charged, they engage.

I would find it strange if it was the pin in the "charger" as he could just have moved to a different one, so i'm guessing it is the locking pin in his car.
