Hello all. I am amazed with good of you community here. I get crashed mg4 (still in transit) and will try to fix it for every day driving.
First thing that I need will be to make it drive somehow. Can you advise me about software, cable or other things that I will need? I understand that I will need VDI2 but I am not sure .

I will update here with all things that I learn. :)

It might be worth you having a chat with @T1 Terry as he has a crash damaged MG4 that he's going to use to electrify a VW Kombi. :)

I will show pics when it arrives. Can someone show me how the active front bumper works and is this function just as carboard as front grille in winter?

The parts finding will be a challenge. In Bulgaria it will be the first MG4. As I see still there are not so many in Europe. I read about zs ev that can move when disconnect srs module, did someone test this on MG4? And does someone know is there option of MG4 without ecall function (really I don't like it).

Is there in front bumper radar or all is behind rear mirror inside? (Need to know what I will need for replacement.) It is a front crash (light but front).

The eCall function requires the correct phone number to be programmed in the car (setting within the infotainment) The number will be set for the country of origin, so likely incorrect for Bulgaria. The SIM in the car may not connect to your local phone networks either.

Its going to be hard work, as as a hobby I fix near new cars, but stick to VAG vehicles, as have VAGCOM / VCDS and also full official ODIS access from VW UK direct - and even thats hard work at times (if the airbags have gone off). Good luck on that one.

My car arrived. Some of the damaged parts are better than expected some are way worse. I hope that I will save the front bumper and headlights. Car is locked and ecall is activated. It is not movable alone.
Overall result for first day (4 hours).

Srs ecu unplugged - result car has almost lights on but switch to ready mode and move alone. Bad is after lock/unlock it gets general failure and no option for self move, but no e call which is super.

Think diag is not working at all with this car.

Front left headlight has damaged housing and water in it. 20 amp fuse is blown (several times). LED driver in the headlight is full of water ... Very bad at all. I will try to dry it and open and clean but... 20a short are not good sign at all.

Front active bumper something (I have no idea what to call it) is 100% smashed. New or without it for now. Or may I can 3d print needed parts.

Front radar. Condition very bad. 90% not fixable, but I can try.

Front camera - fixable I think. New connectors needed at least.

Front bumper saveable with lot of work, but less than price of shipping.

Front right wing saveable.

Safe belts hope that can be restored/rebuilt.

Dashboard is fixable if I found airbag separately.

The eCall function requires the correct phone number to be programmed in the car (setting within the infotainment) The number will be set for the country of origin, so likely incorrect for Bulgaria. The SIM in the car may not connect to your local phone networks either.
The sim is connecting to network with 4G.

Other thing is disturbing me. - ismart.
I can not connect to it with reason "expired qr code"

.... they will be 2 issues which may or may not need resolving, once all parts fixed:-

1. The airbag ECU : Its usually on the transmission tunnel (at least on an ICE car) - normally this needs taken out and reset (some you can do via the OBD port)
2. Pyro fuse : On EV's if the airbag goes the pyro fuse burns out after 20 seconds :- I've seen it on many that the fuse is inside the battery.

... on the MG4, 1 & 2 may be the same? :- Good luck & Best wishes.

There are no hv battery light now and ac heat pump work ( battery is discharging normal).
I hope that all is soft lock and is fixable.

This is the condition of front radar....i will check it later.

I see something else - tires are 205 55 16 original must be 215 45 17 as docs in car. I wonder can i fit 205 65 16 or 215 65 16 because of clearance update and rims save from our "perfect" roads.

In the EU the basic version in Model Year 22 came with 16" steel wheels. So yes, 16" to 18" are acceptable/approved rims (with relevant profiles).

Update. Driver/ballast for left light is seriously game over. I will try fix it but chances are not good at all. Did it need recoding in ecu or is plug and play?
Upper part of bumper looks very well after plastic welding.
Down part have many missing parts but with some imagination and hard work i can recreate all.
The active grill will be printed , but I am far away from cosmetics.
Wiring for front camera is repaired and all is work perfect.
Front radar is still on repair table. for it I know that I will need some soft to reset logged error...

Please write me what is compatible ? What i need to buy?

Not sure about MG, my experience was with VAG cars, The biggest issue was component protection (CP) in that you need access to the VAG servers (in my Case ODIS/ErWin) to get over CP, after that it was fine. It will be more tricky with MG through

Front radar is still on repair table. for it i i know that i will need some soft to reset logged error...

If you can get it repaired, then you may be lucky as all it might only need to recalibrating, again on a VAG it was simply parking 1.2m from a wall to recalibrate.

Progress till now.
All 4 seatbelts are fixed as standard no pyro safe belts. Front airbags are unmounted. All 6 blown pyro are replaced with resistance 2.2ohm to test srs module when is fixed.
Front radar is fixed temporary.
Front gaps are fixed. Bumper and hood need some more filler and correct paint.

Rikey is my small pal mechanic.
:)

From this morning the error for front radar is cleared by itself. Things get better ... Now I am in paint shop to prepare real paint for my MG.
