I have just purchased a Brand new MG HS PHEV Trophy edition. Traded in my 23 plate MG ZS for it. This is my first hybrid car also.

Does anyone have any tips for this car before I take delivery? And what are the best settings to drive on? I can charge for free at my workplace so don’t plan on getting a charger installed at home. Any help is appreciated.

I would suggest reading through the topics on this forum first. Many tips are included here, but keep in mind that some of the older queries may no longer be an issue due to software updates.
There are a number of topics covering member's preferred EV/HEV settings, etc, and it may be that you haven't received a detailed reply as the most experienced members have covered these points a number of times.
Don't let that put you off coming back here if you can't find what you are looking for.

Not that I’m an expert, as I’ve only had my hs hybrid for just or 2 weeks. But as far as I can make out the car will limit the charge to slow charging wherever you connect.
I’ve got a ‘granny’ charger in my garage, and I put the car on charge when needed.
Unlock, open flap, insert plug. Switch on charger in garage, set to 10amps, and away it goes. In the car charging is in progress shows. LOCK CAR. The car, I think regulates the charge rate, as after a few minutes the charge is 9amps, then near the end it goes to 23amps, and then when fully charged switches off. Simples.

Where can I get one of those granny chargers?

@Herandnu I got my one (Masterplug EV Charging Cable, 5 Metres, Mode 2, 3 Pin UK Plug to Type 2 Car Charger, 2.4kW, EVCM221005) from Amazon.
@Gez1888 - That link will take you to my suggestions of what you should do before taking delivery of the car.

Thanks for this. What is the latest software version so that I can check it has been updated before I leave the forecourt?

@Gez1888 - Funnily enough, I got mine updated (to what I assume is the latest version) 2 days ago. Specifically, the MG dealer did this to fix the 'star' button problem.
  • They upgraded from R46 to R62

Brilliant. Will make sure that it is R62 before I leave. Brilliant advice in here btw. Thanks very much!
