If it turns out that the ride and handling aren't that good on UK roads, then I'll have to rethink my next vehicle choice. I'll reserve judgement until my test drive and then make my own mind up about that.
The only thing that's settled so far for me is the fuel choice! Oh, that and my budget of course!!
I have one on order. It rides well and Tom at Top Gear hasn't a clue.
This car beats any others, and that's before looking at the price.
UK and German makers should be very worried. At these prices (even without discounts) nothing comes close. Auto Express are making nice noises about the bmw i3 this week and with options it is twice the price.

It's looking like a promising package but let's not get carried away and make statements like it beats all others

There has been no real world reviews/results on long term UK use as yet.

Took my IM5 LR for a country drive today in the heat (30-34C) and averaged 19km/100km nearly all at 100km/h on fairly rough undulating roads. The a/c was using about 8% of that consumption
Assuming you mean 19kWh/100km that is about 3.3 miles per kWh in our money in the UK. That's fair I suppose, but nothing amazing. So without AC that would 3.6mi/kWh or 17kWh/100km.

I'm trying to think what is enough. I suppose if I had the LR IM5, which is quoted at 441 miles WLTP, then I would want to get 380 miles out of it in summer conditions, or 3.8 miles / kWh.

Small cars today need to be averaging over 4.5 miles / kWh in summer to be considered efficient.

I think that's being generous re 60 miles short, how short are you of the wltp in your 4?
I'm pretty close to mine in my Born (mixed driving) and the wife is reasonably close to hers in her 4.

Id have an expectation to be getting 400 miles at least with mixed driving in mild/warm weather.

I get about 240 miles out of 270 predicted which is 88% of WLTP which would be 392 miles for the IM5 LR. So maybe I was 12 miles out.

But this was my experience and expectation, YMMV.

That's 90%. Yeah, fair enough, we aren't really far apart there.

I guess I don't have a very efficient driving style or it is all the damn hills around here!

I was out in an IM5 AWD today. It was -3 degrees C. For a bit spirited drive it would have a range of 420 km in this weather, with the consumption I had. I also had a long eco trip in my Xpower, and the coldest were -12. That would have 320 km with todays consumption. Considering the drive on the IM was spirited, and the Xpowers drive was economic, the difference against WLTP were not that bad. IM5 did about 23 kWh/100 km and Xpower about 19 kWh/100km. Temp has very much to do with it. On my Xpower I get 200 km range in -30 degrees C and a bit over 500 km in +30 at the best (WLTP 385 km). That is a big difference!

Agree not the best especially at 60mph our under
Yep 19kWh/100km - there was a 400m climb, but then it was out and back… The tarmac temperature would have been >50C for a lot of the way and that presumably requires a lot of battery cooling. These cars are not Tesla efficient - 2200kg is just a lot of mass. One thing to note is in Australia we get 20ā€ non-aero wheels with performance tyres - not good for endurance.
