MG Warranty used buy problem UK

Hi all my First post , I purchased a 2yr old mg4 from a dealer who has the MG brand in their network , but not at the branch I bought the car from. I was told the car had been serviced and was eligible for the MG warranty. I have now found out it has never been registered as having been serviced by MG,s records and the 7 year warranty is invalid where do I stand any help greatly appreciated KP

If they told you the car had been serviced and the warranty was intact, and yet the reality is otherwise, then they've made a material error in the sale and you are fully entitled to reject the vehicle as being Not As Described for a refund. See the Consumer Rights Act 2015. (s11 and s19 to S24).

If your maintenance contract stated that your car would be serviced to comply with MG warranty T&C's and the group did not offer you an alternative that would comply with the terms of the contract. Then they have breached the contract.

Not only that but if by their actions they have rendered the MG warranty void they should either:
cover the cost of any warranty work for the warranty period
supply you with a replacement vehicle of the similar spec and age that is covered by the MG warranty

Pretty much my thoughts and plan of action BUT the first hurdle is MG to confirm my warranty...

Coming here hoping to get some opinions from others based on their experience with using MG's warranty.

Earlier this week I bought a second-hand 2022 ZS EV from a mains MG dealer. When I first saw and test drove the car, the salesman guaranteed that the vehicle had full service history. I trusted this at face value and (perhaps foolishly) didn't ask to see proof...

The handover day comes and they didn't send any proof of servicing at all with the vehicle. I chase them up on this and suddenly they can only find proof of the latest service (done in Dec. 2024) but not from the...

Update dealer says I am not telling the truth and would not have been told verbally it had a service history . They did tell me it had serviced history and was eligible for the 7 yr warranty . Nothing on paper do I give up! Word against word ?

I think you could threaten them with legal action on the grounds that no sane person would buy a car from a main dealer and not expect the car to have been properly serviced with any remaining warranty in place. You were not told specifically that the car had not been serviced in accordance with the warranty provisions, or in any documents, and thus misled to the state of its service state.

No, don't give up. A verbal agreement can be legally binding if there is an offer and acceptance and something of value was exchanged.

I recently purchased a mg4 trophy , many dealers said they where serviced but when asked if they had the paperwork that it was carried out by a mg garage they weren't, eventually found one with paperwork but when taking out a service contract with local MG garage I asked if the previous two services had been logged only one had ,
Both services carried out at same MG garage, I think you should be able to check the MG site not just dealers ,at least I do have the paperwork if the s__t hits the fan
