MG ZS Charging wall box

Hello all,
I have 6.9 KW available overnight at my home.
I am planning to do <100 KM per day in this car.

I am planning to buy a 7.4KW wall charging station.

How can I make this charging station just work from 10pm to 8am automatically ?

Should I use a "contactor" and a digital timer din rail ?

If I do this when I start and end the charge, will the car accept this and not error ?

Is this the best setup ?

You really won't benefit much with a 0.5kww upgrade the car will probably sit at just under 7kw anyway
For 100km you will only need 3h max I would say so you have plenty of time

If you install a smart charge point it will take care of timed charging when the car doesn't.

The reason why i want to charge on that schedule its because its cheaper with my energy plan and also because my smart charge point doesnt have a power load management system so if i use the oven at the same time for example it wont be able to cope

Mine is arriving this month so it should be gen 2.

I would say having a wallbox its safer than just a 32a socket right?

Definitely as new smart meters will have stuff like pen fault detection

You can on gen2 but don't think you can on gen1

This is very true.
The Gen1 has NO internal timer schedule settings in the head unit, but YES in the Gen 2.
If you have a dumb wall box and you wish to delay / timer control your charging on the Gen 1.
It can be possible to install a Wi-Fi relay into the wall box, which can be controlled from a App on your smart phone.
If you have a decent Wi-Fi signal of course.

latest regs say chargers have to be smart, therefore any wall box you install should have all the toys you need to set charging schedules etc.

ha, didn't spot that, possibly something similar, only in Portuguese ,
if not it is on its way Europe needs smart charging of all EVs now

You would be best to ask a ev forum in your country I don't know what's available in Portugal
