MG ZS EV Dashcam Hardwire.

Thanks both. This is the kit I bought.

Just tried the window fuse, but for whatever reason that seemed to show power with my simple light tester with the ignition off (I did have the driver's door open though so wonder if that has an effect). What I've been supplied with comes with a 3A fuse for the camera, but it isn't clear from the instructions which slot it goes in on the adapter as the image in the instructions is the opposite to the actual cable (almost like it's been mirrored). I've given up now as I'm getting an airbag warning so god only knows what I've done 😫

If you hold the piggyback fuse holder horizontally with the wire going to the right, the bottom socket (which should be closest to the metal pins) is for the original fuse and the top socket is for the dashcam. I would double check the power rating to confirm 3A is sufficient for the dashcam.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Thanks all for the replies. Looks like I caused the airbag warning by plugging the fuse for that circuit in a "not used" fuse slot in the van. I'm usually careful with that sort of stuff and was tired, so must've had a funny five minutes! I've given up for now as it's pouring with rain and I need to have the door open to do this. It's not helping that one of the fuse boxes seems to be inaccessible due to the fitment of various camper van furniture, hoping to double-check that tomorrow, but if that's the case it really limits what I can piggyback on to.

Brilliant explanation Dave...even i can follow it and the Fuse pic..thx
I an just hoping it is the same Fuse Box & setup for HS PHEV.

I can't be definitive about the ZSEV but I did this job on my MG5 and that certainly contained micro size fuses. Can't think why the ZSEV would be different but there must be someone here that has actually poked around in the fusebox who can confirm for sure.

My fuse box is covered up and have to remove two screws to get to it...also havn't got any empty slots

You don't need empty slots, that's the whole point of the piggyback fuse taps.

I think you'll find that Micro is correct :)
According to the Viofo install video on YouTube he mentions Mini so I bought Mini piggyback and fuses and they match on the mk2 ZS. The blue is the supplied 15a cigarette lighter socket.

You have to use a Switched live circuit (for example radio or lights).
I have mine in a permanent live circuit, which is fine unless you park up for over 10days with the camera running.... don't ask.

I belive I am using a live circuit as it's the same as OP's? #15 which is front power socket
