Hi All,
I want to know what other's experiences are when charging a Gen 1 ZS. I posted here a few years ago about my slow charging speeds and responses seemed to suggest it may be external factors rather than the car. I don't really rapid charge this car but today found myself in a position where I had to (I messed up the overnight charge at home
)
Here's my experience today.
It's 14°C this morning, I charged at a newish 120kW Instavolt charger - one of six with only one other being used (at the other end of the row). I'd done a 10 mile journey to get there.
I started charging at 7% and the initial charging rate was about 40 kW. As the car charged the rate went up to around 44kW which is where it peaked. The charge rate then started to decrease as below. I stopped the charge at 50%.
38% charge - 40kW
40% charge - 39kW
44% charge - 37 kW
46% charge - 36 kW
50% charge - 35 kW
I just want to know if this mirrors other people's experience. I have some longer trips planned over the next 6 months in probably colder weather. If this is the DC performance of the ZS then I'm not sure it's really fit for purpose for me. My old Nissan Leaf could only charge at 50kW but, even in colder conditions would be mid 40s or higher up to 80%.
Thanks and apologies if I just need to accept this is a slow charging car.
