MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

I asked a dealer if they got some new EZ EV arriving in their stock,.they said they only received ICE cars in the last shipment.
Maybe an unlucky dealer or a different boat.

I got a similar ambiguous email the other day. It wasnt really an update of any sort, the email said sorry but your order has been delayed but not by how much it has been delayed or to when, at least others were told September ?

As there are ships in port, with hopefully MG ZS EV trophy’s in Silver on it, I popped in the MG dealership by me and asked about my car…to be told, (like Manuel said from Fawlty towers, “I know nothing”) so do you know if it’s on the ships in port..No…do you know, if it’s even built…No…only thing they would say is…”don’t think you’ll see it before August” so guess that means September then..for anyone that’s after a MG5..they have two..one in the showroom and one outside with a price tag of £30k + both in silver..one outside has a plate on it….both in Coventry, if your interested..

Just had my fortnightly update and it appears my MG ZS EV LR will arrive in country tomorrow.

I've had exactly the same phone call - think we've got the same dealer... picking up end of May apparently. Excited now!!

I'd be really tempted to take a SR on quick delivery rather than wait an unknown length of time for my LR, but most dealers seem to prioritise sales customers over Motability ones.

I might be tempted too. We are moving house in a month or so and I will need an EV with better range than my 2016 Smurf. But... I then think residual value may be better with the LR. ?

I went to the presentation of the new Niro e tonight. if I place an order this week they will guarantee July delivery. They are manufacturing all orders for their July launch. But it is a set number once that number has been fulfilled. The next batch is December . I'm tempted but its 6k more than the mg trophy connect.

Hi, everyone who is waiting for a mg zs ev long-range, you have got a bloody long wait!!! I have just received a reply from mg head office telling me that due to a material shortage my order(which I placed on the 8th December) is waiting construction!!!!!! So at this rate f... knows when it will arrive.
I look forward to seeing your thoughts on this.

But it is a set number once that number has been fulfilled. The next batch is December . I'm tempted but its 6k more than the mg trophy connect.

I was considering this as well. From what I could see, trim 3 would be the closest match to the Trophy (less the sunroof). Price jump, yes, but could have a new car before MG makes up their mind what they're doing ?‍?

I've just lost it with MG they launch a car in November. Dealership received 2 lr. demonstrators both now sold and have not seen another since. No communication, no idea if, when what or why. Regardless of the problems it's no way to run a business. I have a week to ponder. I may go for the Niro and let the mg order run and see what happens.

I’m guessing the Kia will hold its value slightly better than the MG so over 3y-4y you might find the difference isn’t as big…

Likewise. Totally understand the issues, but the fact dealers are still quoting a 4m lead time on new orders is just unacceptable.

Guaranteeeing? In writing with penalties? That may shift the needle for me to Kia.

Does anyone know here if real world consumption (miles per kwh) is materially different or similar between the MG ZS and the Niro EV? I am guessing there will be a difference in winter since the Kia has a heat pump?

Heat pump on the Kia is 900 or so extra don't forget.

I went to the Kia Niro launch event a few weeks ago, I was tempted, salesman was absolutely hopeless both at the event and for the following week. I'd have bought one if it was 100% July, but they basically said no chance, it'll be 2023 (true or not who knows)

But I turned up with a metaphorical bag of cash to buy one and they talked me out of it... Go figure

I would certainly expect the e.Niro to be more efficient !.
If the deposit is refundable, what do have to loose - order one and see which comes first and cancel the other one !.

the '4' with heatpump is ~£10K more than the ZS Trophy... The Kia is nicer but not 10K nicer IMO (Trophy LR available for £31,000)
