MG4 25 Drive Assist Speed Restriction warnings

Drive assist, Took my MG4 extended EV into the Dealer because the Drive assist fails to recognise Speed Restriction changes and keeps telling me it is 30 mph and beeping at me. Technician kept the car for a day did a substantial diagnosis, downloaded and installed the latest update. He kept it overnight and road tested the next day. Told me it was now working.
It seemed to be working on the way home it but next day it was just like before.
What can I do to get it fixed?

Exactly. It is not reliable and cannot be "fixed". It is what it is.
Make sure you don't have audible alerts set for it.
Mine just blinks the speed limit symbol.
It does do that correctly sometimes

My 22 LR was very good at this. Never missed a traffic sign.

I now have a MY 25 same model and the speed recognition fails to even start up at times.
How can that change between the model years? Why mess with a feature which was working fine?

The good news is you seem to have a good dealer if they spent all that time and effort to try and fix it (presumably all under warranty).

I think it's hopeless. Given that it relies on a camera seeing signs which may be inapplicable or misleading or simply obscured, I'm not sure how it can ever work. Turn it off.

I started disabling the speed limit recognition on my car on day 2, along with the LKA, because the LKA was frankly diabolical and the speed limit thing was obviously lying to me. I kept doing that until I got the LKA fix last week, when I decided to discontinue the pre-flight routine to see what would happen.

I knew the speed limit recognition was poor on the A701, because almost all "national speed limit" signs are followed soon afterwards by a reminder that the HGV speed limit is 40 mph, so the car sees that and flashes 40 at you for the next 20 miles. But I've seen it behaving really...

Exactly!
We have plenty of situations where a sign is only active to a specific time of day (school drop-off and pickup) and there's another small sign with the text describing the times
There is no way the system can be expected to understand that.

Mines like a stroppy teenager , a law unto itself, ignore it or clip it round the ear ( can you still do that ) trying to argue, understand or reason with it means ..... you lose.

This is a known problem with MY24/25 cars. Sometimes it just doesn't change the speed. At other times it is perfect. No one here has yet managed to get their service centre to fix it. This method works.

Hello,

my first post there, not native english speaker, so I hope to get all right.

I'm from a month a proud owner of a Luxury64 MY24, and wile the car is truly awsome on any regard, is plagued by a quite annoying bug: when you start it for the first time speed signals recognition just lock on 50km/h.
I couldn't replicate this glitch on any other situation and the only workaround (over turning ISA off) is to lock the car, waith 30ish seconds and restart it.

Now, on MY24 the intelligent speed assistant is active by default at the start, and being a mandatory safety feature by the new...

If anyone(or service centre) finds the solution there will be great interest on this forum. I am confident that in time MG will release an update that will fix this.
