Hoping this is a sign of economy going forward

30 miles from home to Meadowhall

Some side roads then M1

5 miles per kWh very similar to what our old Hyundai Kona did on that run

Wow! I'm truly impressed - our SR is averaging under 4.0. What sort of temperature was that achieved at?

By the time I did the return journey and got home total average was down to 4.4

combination of more spirited driving on way back so frozen food did not melt and wind direction

Hi @Stageshoot, we are between a Kona EV facelift 64kw (which we've ordered 12 months ago but due soon) and an MG4 which will arrive shortly. We haven't found any comparisons online, since you've driven both could you share your thoughts? We are concerned about the Kona's limited space and older tech and about MG4's reliability taken that it is a car that haven't been in the roads for much. MG4's economy seems less too, compared to Kona...

We love the Kona still so probably a bit biased. Its built like a tank and survived many a battle in Central London,.

If you are getting the Ultimate/PSE its the same spec wise as the Trophy MG4

Range wise the Kona will do 10/15% more due to the true usable 64kw battery.

Things we miss on the MG4 compared to the Kona so far
1: Cooled Seats
2: Head Up Display
3: Front Parking Sensors

Things we prefer on the MG4
1: Better App
2: Vehicle to Load
3: Neater Interior
4: More Room in the back and better seating position
5: Double the charging speed of the Kona

We got 5 miles/kw out the MG4 on a 40 mile run yesterday so seems about the same as the Kona

If the battery had not failed in our last Kona we probably would have still been in it, but the slow rap[id charging is probably the main thing that would be making looking to move on from it now.

And of course price wise the MG4 floors the Kona

But Honestly whichever way you go they are both great choices.

Thank you very much for your thorough answer! ordered Kona trim is Premium in Cyprus, with an 8" display so the interior gap is larger as compared with MG trophy.

lack of Front sensors is a drawback, especially if you have been using them, but double rapid charging speed is definitely a pro. We are a bit worried it hasn't been ncap tested yet.

Still can't decide...
