I have a Hypervolt Home Pro 3. It's works perfectly with my wife's ORA. It has no schedule or restrictions and via the Hypervolt App is set to 32A.

When I plug in my MG4 EV Trophy, half the time it doesn't charge, and half the time it charges @ ~ 1.5 - 2.0 kW. If I notice it's not charging I have to open the car, unplug, close the car, open the car and reconnect the charge cable. That usually works.

There are no schedules or restrictions on the MG and it is set to Max Charge in the AC settings, but is still 'slow charging'.

Does anyone have any suggestions please.

Do you have to set a car model on your EVSE?

Does your EVSE have knowledge of the ORA's battery level via the car's API?

I assume you tried restarting the charging via iSmart after the charging stopped?
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Not sure what you mean by the 1st question. If you mean my Hypervolt App then I can see no setting for the car make/model etc.

2nd question - sorry again no idea what you mean. It works fine ~ 6-7kwh on the Ora, works at 1.5-2.5 kwh on the MG4.

iSmart just kept telling me charging failed. I have to turn off, unplug, turn on, turn off and cross my fingers. It took 3 attempts earlier today. Working now but a very slow speed ~ 2khw.

I can (almost) put up with the not charging faff if it actually worked at ~6-7kwh when it does work.

Charges fine when I'm out and about on a fast charger.

Good idea. I'll pop over to my son's over the weekend.

Best to eliminate all options, but I thought that with my wife's car charging flawlessly every time it must be my car.

Thanks for the thought!

What is set in the MG4 Charge settings screen in the AC current dropdown box

Regarding opening and closing, unplugging etc, when my car doesn't start charging, I get into the car and (when screen eventually fires up) click lock on the charging part of the screen, then (assuming it locks) click start charging. This is assuming that when you initiate the charge from the Hypervolt, the charge port doesn't lock automatically (you can hear the sound). I have also found that if I just lock the car it forces it to lock, but generally prefer to use the screen. For the charge rate see the comment from STG above
