Maybe sooner. BYD are launching their UK campaign at Fully Charged South in Farnborough next weekend.
Looking forward to the arrival of the SEAL do think they will have to try and price it competitively against the Model 3, seems to be it's direct competitor. Looks great from what I've seen.

Just had an email from Fully Charged.
They'll have the Dolphin on their stand, and Ora are unveiling their new "premium saloon car" too.

There's quite the lineup.

Pity they don't seem to have the new Hyundia Kona. I would like a look at it.

This is where its strange - we have done over 500 miles in ours now and I don't think I have seen a journey get more than 3.4 and that includes a drive up the M3 at 65 where I would have expected to see more than 3.1 out of it. There is obviously a lot of variation out there. Certainly never seen anything like the 4 some have seen
I have struggled to get over 3.3m per kWh in my trophy, 3 weeks and 1100 miles in. The first trip from Southampton to Cardiff and back was pretty cold and wet so no surprises but yesterday to Cheltenham and back via Swindon was no better. Only having to slow to 50 for the M3 roadworks seemed to bring it up to 3.4 at the end.

Having looked like I only had 12-13 miles extra to make the journey back I ended up at 12% and 30 miles remaining after 183 completed at 60-65 max.

Luckily I suffered less of the limited power available under 20% charge maybe as it was warmer. Only really noticed it from 15% and under where the M3 was the limiting factor anyway.

Anyone else have low power output and limited top speed at lower charge levels?

There's a whole thread on that issue. I haven't seen it myself but I haven't gone below 20% yet.

Yes, I posted in there but mine is Trophy not SE SR and repeatable with similar results each time like it is actually set to protect the battery albeit a little too soon in my view.

Just wondered if other Long Range or Trophy owners had tried letting the charge get lower to see how their car reacts. I used to take my MG5 down to 8 or 9% when returning home without ever noticing any change in available power. I always took it easy when the charge dropped below 10% so as not to stress it but there was no limit on top speed that I noticed

Did you start off with 80 or 100% for your trip

Some LR people have had the same issues, the other thread isn't just about the SR, although they seem to suffer more from it.

100% in both cases, only cover a few miles and straight on the motorway so limited regen opportunities plus wanted to avoid as much public charging cost as I can😂

That is true although the thread suggests a random top speed is hit with reduced power at varying states of charge even in the 40s % whereas mine is very repeatable with a gradual reduction of top speed in relation to charge level and only at 23% and below so far.

The only deviation was it started at a lower % figure of around 15% when the car was warmer and the higher 23% when cold one morning.

Who knows what is going on with the software being such a shambles….

Yes, definitely multiple bugs at play here.

I've had mine as low as 6% SoC and haven't experienced any limitations. (I did get the warning about low SoC below about 11%, but no other impact).

Hi ,

Just buy my MG4 on 10th April 2023.
MG4 disappoint me from first day..regret to buy it and warn other peoples plz don't buy this sh*t car..just waste on money ..MG range claim is totally bullsh*t ..want authorities to investigate their range as its not even near by as MG claim..its real range for 64KW/h is around 170-180 most of driving in city and 10% on motor way at speed around 50 miles.

It's rear demister is NIGHTMARE , TAKE AGES TO DRY THE FOG..CABIN LIGHT IS JOKE..ALL OTHER CABIN INTERIOR IS NOT CHEAP BUT ITS TOOOOOOOO CHEAP...REGRET TO BUY ...TOTALLY BULLsh*t ALL MG CLAIMS DONT TRUST THEIR FIGURES...FEELING REGRET, REGRET,REGRET ...WASTE OF MONEY
Completely disagree with all of this and it sounds suspiciously like a TROLL. So good bye TROLL.

yes, interesting - and per Leni's note re the Seal - it will be intriguing (not sure if that's the most appropriate word) to see how the pricing shakes down over the next 12 months... (i feel some depreciation coming on...[Leni: that's why i didn't want to spend too much on a new car at the back end of last year - our id3 was worth quite a bit more than we paid for it but the mg4 was quite a bit less - the slippery slope had arrived...])
Is the Renault as good as the Honda? (ok, twice the range, lol!)

I hope aamer finds something that works for him; to be fair, the ev industry has hardly covered itself in glory...

Honestly what a load of nonsense, sounds like someone who has bought a car, not looked into it enough and went all about posting in here the wrong way.

Because you completely disagree then he has to be a troll.

Do you completely disagree with @bowfer @Goldie007 @Jester27 or @Mars6394 they are posting about the issues and faults they are experiencing have rejected cars, had a bit of a rant here and there, does that make them trolls too? They must be going on your logic, or because they have just went about it in a better manner you will accepts the issues they are having.

I get that your car is the best car you've had, doesn't have any faults and you are really enjoying it, I'm genuinely happy that it is but just because someone else isn't doesn't make them a troll.

They OP got criticised for being petulant, by admin, your reply is equally so. And is exactly the kind of behaviour I was highlighting has happened in the past, when someone dared be negative about the car.

Obviously IAM a troll, just to save you saying it👍

Thanks for that, interesting to know. My warnings consist of a suggestion to charge soon at 21% followed by another at 11% from memory then quickly followed by a limited power message but only when pressing the throttle as it disappears when you let off.

Obviously this is more common than I gave you credit for on the other thread - the perfect illustration of your point.

So where did you buy your car from and what version is it?

Good one let's not continue with the petulant games you know the answer to that already.

You got called out your reply was nonsense other members agreed, as I said I'm glad your enjoying you car and it's all working as it should. I m also glad you managed to not get ripped off for the extra £1000 January price rise when you ordered your car in December and your dealer tried it on.
Tell me who was it that messaged you on Christmas Eve and told you to get back to them and point it out, I wonder 🤔

If all you can come back at at me with is, what you did then who is trying to provoke a response now it's almost as if you are trying to bait me and get me to display an emotional response.

Sounds like a definition of something.

The OP was in the wrong, it has been discussed to death not because of what he said but the way he said it.

People can be critical of the car they all don't have to love it, there are far too many examples of issues on here that prove people don't all love it.
People also don't need to own a particular car to be able to call out crap service and support. And as I highlighted the other day people that do should not be in receipt of responses that they have just because it goes against someone's else's idea or experiences.
As always this behaviour seems to go unchecked

I have often said that I genuinely hope everyone's cars have zero issues but I will continue to comment on crap service when I see examples of it.

If your not happy put me on Ignore if you want it's no skin of my nose,
I've seen too many examples of members that are critical being subjected to a variety of derogatory responses to their criticisms. If I see it I will continue to call it out. People don't agree with a lot of my posts
They don't have to agree with members posts but they can at least be mature enough to continue to be civil.

I like this forum it's amongst the best due to a good core of great members that's knowledge is second to none, they have helped so many people in recent months, there are also people that love a bit of good banter and don't take stuff to seriously
.
That was until @tsedge became a you tube star tonight and became to big to socialise with us mere mortals.

I hope you continue to enjoy trouble free motoring👍
