MG4 Extended Range/Zappi 2 charging issue

Hi folks,

Having an issues with my MG4 since purchase in February this year. I would say it charges around 10% of the time when I use my at home Zappi 2 single phase charger. The charger worked on my previous car (Model 3) and also on my partners car (Renault Zoe) but for the MG4 it only charges by a couple of kilowatts (or sometimes a couple of watts) then claims the charge is complete. I’ve spoken to MyEnergi who have said the charger is working fine and also MG who say the charger is working fine. If I’m desperate for a home charge I need to sit and watch it and when it claims charge is complete I need to restart it on the MG app. This works most of the time, sometimes it just refuses to restart and sometimes it charger at preconditioning levels (1.4kWh or so).

Being limited to charging during the day (since I need to sit and watch it) is costing me a bomb. Are there any ideas on a fix for this?

I see something similar with my MG4 and our Indra Smart Pro.
If there is delayed charging, the car says it is charging but has a rate of 0.0kW.
After 10 minutes Octopus sends me a message saying there was a problem with charging.

My current workaround is when the 'charge' has started is to manually stop charging via Smart and then manually start charging.

Not good when Octopus change the charge times or give non contiguous charging blocks.

My wife's Kia Soul has no such issue.

Someone reported the same issue with a Hypervolt charger and they said software updates to the car fixed the issue.

I initially assumed it was something like this but it also does it without delayed charging, it’ll charge for a few minutes then the charger will think it’s full. It’s also fully up to date in terms of software, I had that confirmed today.

When I delay it the charger seems to know it’s delayed, but whenever Octopus decide to stay it the car very quickly reports that the EV is full.

The MG4 doesn't like start stop charging and shuts down so not great with IOG.
