MG4 Frunk now available

The thing I preferred with the ev accessories Ireland frunk for the MG4 is that it makes more use of the space below the frunk. So your charging cable sits upright in a deep pocket so to speak.

I would also recommend getting some gas struts for the bonnet, makes accessing the frunk more convenient
The Ireland one looks smaller in other places. Not really sure which to go with now.

I have the frunk.at one.
It’s doesn’t give you massive of space but does clear some things from the trunk I don’t use daily. I have put more stuff in it since I took this install photo.

I like the fact it clips on to ball joints so easy to quickly remove if needed with no tools.

I have the gas struts to add but not a chance to put them in yet.

Looking at your photo, it looks like you've the new design with cut out corners to take the after-market gas struts. ;)
This model wasn’t available when I wanted a frunk, (I'd already fitted the gas struts) so I went to the Austrian company Frunk.at for mine. It was more expensive, but worth it to me, at the time.
yeah, I do think this is the 2nd gen design, remember reading some other thread in this forum about it. Oh how's the Frunk.at one? That one looked great too, but was significantly more expensive when I was considering this.

remember to factor in shipping! Frunk.at shipping was much more than evaccessoriesireland for my location, and that played a part.
frunk.at and topevgear are 155 and evaccessoriesireland is 165 but would prob be the fastest delivery as its nearest. Really hard choice I just want the biggest one and I plan on getting gas struts too

It's hard to choose between evaccessoriesireland and frunk.at as frunk.at looks bigger but evaccessoriesireland has bigger dimensions. The topevgear one with gas struts would be the best option and it looks the biggest too however the delivery would likely take ages and the gas strut option is not in stock.

You could buy the struts separately, from e.g. AliExpress? :)
That is what I was thinking of doing, just hard choosing which frunk to get. The Ireland one would come faster 3-5 days and be deeper however, the German frunk.at one is £10 more but looks bigger in the pictures, it also has a net. 5-10 days.

I seems you may have a bit of analysis paralysis there my friend. I would say any frunk is bigger than what you currently have, and the difference in size seems pretty minimal going by the pictures.

In the end they all look very similar, whichever one you end up getting will serve you fine I think.

I anticipated using my frunk all the time, and technically I suppose I do because I always have stuff in there. However, I find I use it mostly to store incidentals out of the way, and access it rarely nowadays.

It's a hard choice between the two, I plan on storing my 2 cables in it and my v2l adapter. So i'll only open it when charging my car.

Did you get the Ireland one? I think I just found a post of you mentioning it. I am curious about how easy it is to remove from the bonnet for services etc... As I know with the frunk.at ones they are extremely easy to remove.

I have the Ireland one yes, it fits in place using the same plugs and holes that are being used by the plastic engine bay cover that they put in at the factory. So You could remove it without leaving a trace. Although, saying that, I have personally also taken out the rod that holds up the bonnet, as it interfered a little bit with the frunk and I got the gas struts anyway so had no more use for it.

How easy is it to remove though? The frunk.at one can just be lifted out but I have a feeling the Irelandaccessories one cant be.

Does the frunk.at one entail removing the standard cover plugs and fitting (supplied) ball plugs? If yes, and you're concerned about removing the frunk come service/warranty work time, then you'd need to remove those ball plugs anyway in order to refit the standard cover. So there's basically no time gained or lost by either option. :)

As easy as removing the plastic tray, so just unscrew the plugs, of which I think there are four.
Could I ask where you got your gas struts from? I was going to get the ones someone linked further up but wanted to check which you got first. Pretty sure they all work the same anyway though.

I got mine through Amazon, but I'm pretty sure it was the same price as aliexpress + expedited shipping to be honest.
