It doesn't but proves how fantastic it is in Cyprus, price, insurance, safety systems.
There is nothing to fault it on!

BMW's however appear to be crap in Cyprus!

Would you now consider the ER for it's increased range or it's increased performance?
Range for me is not the deal breaker.

Probably the range, I’ve only ever had one butt clenching drive which was at the very start of my EV ownership so my planning wasn’t that great, I’ve never had range anxiety since though.

The reason I wouldn’t trade in now is that I might as well drive this car for a few years, and then most EVs will have better range and better performance anyway because they all advance so rapidly. Considering the MG4 is my first EV I’m pretty happy with my choice.

For you though, if you want power and don’t need the range, isn’t an Xpower similarly priced to the ER? I think here it’s only a few $1000 extra, but not sure if that is the case in the UK.

So we have an SR and an ER (AKA Excite 51 and Essence Long Range 77 here in Australia).

There's a huge difference in power between the 51 and the 77 which is absolutely as expected given 125kW / 250Nm vs 180kW / 350Nm.

The Trophy LR ( Essence 64 here) has a 150kW powered motor so some may think it isn't that much different from the ER however they are missing a key difference. The torque.

The Trophy LR only has the 250Nm of torque. So along with 30kW less power it has 100Nm less torque!!!

You will absolutely know the difference.

If there's little difference in price between the two it's an absolute no-brainer to choose the ER.

Great touring car. Our 51 is just fine around town, but for any sort of out of town and extended driving the ER is just glorious.

The ER also supports 11kW 3 phase charging which can be handy.

Having been driving an early Mokka-e 50kWh with 180 miles reliable range for four years. The Trophy LR range is plenty for me. Performance, I drive in old man mode. anyway, it's entirely adequate. ER perhaps in the future but very much a want not a need for me.

new member here wanting to make the switch to electric. I'm looking at a roughly 2 year old MG4 Trophy but can't make my mind up between a long range and an extended range.

I don't need the extra range as my journey lengths are rarely in excess of 100 mile round trips, but i notice when reading the stats that the extended range has quite a bit better performance in terms of acceleration and just would like some advice from you guys on the plus or minus of the long range over the extended range please. When looking at used examples, the cost difference isn't that great.

Not sure what the difference in range is, but can only comment from an xp point of view that having 200 miles of ranges has been fine for me. I regularly do a 400 mile round trip to manchester and stop on the way there and way back for a bathroom break which is enough.

Think of it a slightly different way. Range isn't a deal breaker until you need a bit more range . Also think of the potential attraction that ER "may" have to prospective buyers at resale time, when one of the items on a new EV owners mind is range anxiety.
