Mg4 se 2022 parking brake sticking on hold. Tried shutting down and opening up a dozen times, on the 13th attempt it was released. Worried about it happening again. Is there a way to release it manually. Thanks in advance
I assume you've tried putting your foot on the brake and pressing down on the "handbrake" button, then released the foot brake? (May be a granny / eggs question, but still worth asking)
When was the last time you got up to a decent speed, put the car in Regen 1 (or Neutral) and stamped on the brakes to clean them?
Yes I've done the first part of your question to no avail. Haven't done the 2nd part of your question, will try it. I'm away on holiday atm, and worry that when I get back the brakes will be locked again. Is there a away of realising the handbrake manually, pressing the button did not realise the brake
Perhaps, whilst an assistant in the drivers seat tries to release them , use a screwdriver poked through the wheel onto the caliper body and tap with a hammer to provide a bit of shock. Should also show which one is sticking more than the other. ( if both )
