My Seat Leon used the VAG wheel rotation method and could only alert you to a problem (you’d then have to check each tyre yourself to determine which one was low) but the 5 has a similar display to the 4, with pressures indicated for each position.

My 2012 Golf GT also showed tyre pressures.

But that's not what I said ... my "rotation" comment was regarding wheel location, thus the 5 likely uses that same VAG method (as my old Golf used) not that it uses wheel turning to infer tyre pressure.

Some systems that display actual pressure (internal TPMS) have the capability to detect which corner a sensor is reporting from. It would be disappointing to see MG has this hardware/software but hasn't put it on the MG4.

The whole point of per tyre read out should be the convenience of knowing which tyre is at what pressure. Which it will only do if you never move your wheels around. Or, I guess, if you get all your tyre related stuff done by the dealer, who probably outsources to a tyre shop anyway.

The MG4 is a budget vehicle. Why would it be disappointing to find that MG have cut costs to keep the price down?

Because indirect TPMS (using the rotational speeds of the wheel) would be even cheaper and just warn you about having a flat. Why bother spending the money on direct TPMS sensors, but only half implement the system? I think that is a waste.

I swapped my wheels over front to rear at 18k miles (estimated tyre replacement at around 36k) . When I get 4 new tyres I will leave the wheels where they are then when I swap them front to rear again they'll be back as they were. You see it doesn't really matter because if I get a low pressure warning I always check all 4 and set them all the same.

I ordered a set of wheels (rims, tyres and sensors) for the winter season from an online shop. They put universal TPMS sensors (MAX SELECT SENSOR Flying-Wing MXSAB001) in the wheels, that were programmed to communicate with a MG4, but not exactly MY MG4.
Changed the wheels at home.
Got a TPMS warning the first 2 or 3 days, after 5-20km (somewhere in that range). On the 3rd or 4th day (after around 300 kms) the car registered the new sensors, and TPMS is working fine now for 2 months.
Of course, the position will probably be wrong, I haven't checked yet because i don't really care.

Unfortunately, according to a German forum, people did have more problems when switching back to the original tyres, that the car simply didn't want to register.

BTW: Weather app is still not working...?

The sensors stay where they are so are unaffected by a tyre change.

Trouble is many places don't put the wheels back in the same places. Sometimes even when you ask.

Hello, I'm taking advantage of the latest messages to ask my question:Is it possible via SIPS or VDS to program new keys or for example to be able to activate advanced features... Like closing the windows when closing the car...?

You can program new keys but you cannot officially enable new features as the list of functionalities gets download from SAIC in China every time.

If I'm remembering right ... it's the TBox that needs updating to properly resolve Bluetooth issues.

I am not sure if that was updated, but what they did seems to have worked fine. Only had to pair my phone once in a week so far, so it's a good improvement.
Unfortunately, the other software updates couldn't be installed for some reason on my car, and the dealership got in touch with MG to solve this. I just got a call from them that they should be able to do it now but I will have to leave the car to them for 2 days!
Appointment is in 3 weeks so we'll see I suppose.

In addition, I now have a problem with the left star button on the steering wheel: it does the customized function but it also activates the function of the right star button at the same time.
In my case I set it up to change the driving modes and I have HVAC controls on the right, so, e.g. every time I switch from "Normal" to "Sport" to "Eco" and so on I keep turning on and off the commands for the HVAC, which is inconvenient to say the least!
Anyone else experienced that?

So I had a call from the dealer that did my service saying they'd had word from MG now that I need to take it back in for a software update - they couldn't tell me exactly what would be updated, only FICM needs updating, but they updated that from R46 to R59 at the service and I'm pretty sure they also updated some other modules as ACC seemed better, and most of the issues I raised were resolved apart from BT pairing. Maybe they'll take it to R63

Just back from the dealers in a loan MG4 because they couldn't get my car to update to the right version again! It updates, presumably via SIPS, but doesn't load on the expected version. They won't tell me what exactly it does load only the FICM version isn't right (although FICM MPU/MCU look like a valid combination to me), they are waiting for a response from MG

Interesting thing with the courtesy MG4 - my phone connected to the BT and synced all my contacts without me pairing it!? Even if all MG4 had the same Bluetooth address, this one wouldn't know my phone's address, and surely pairing links the two addresses?

I've decided to take my 23 plate phase 1 trophy back to the dealer for further attempts to get my annoyances fixed - Bluetooth pairing requests, HVAC with a mind if it's own (sometimes 25 is roasting hot and sometimes it's freezing, even during the same journey), auto lights which activate when passing through the shadow of a tree (slight exaggeration perhaps...).

I will mention the AAC's nervous behaviour as well as LKA having a prefence for ditches on back roads though I doubt much can be done about it.

My trophy started life with R30. Had a brief encounter with R33 and has lived on R46 for about 6 months. I'm hoping R63 and some other updates can be applied to improve the experience.

I will mention the AAC's nervous behaviour as well as LKA having a prefence for ditches on back roads though I doubt much can be done about it.

R49,or R63 fix that. I like 24 but I have Reynauds so I need that heat, but 22 comfortably keeps it demisted

In my experience, I had an issue with the front radar, which took one month and two visits to resolve. I mentioned some other problems to request updates for the FICM and other modules via SIPS, but they only updated the Assistance Guide Module as instructed by MG. The same evening the radar was fixed, I proceeded to update the FICM on my own, and I am now waiting for the delivery of the VDI to complete the remaining updates via SIPS.

I believe MG doesn’t pay well for updates, and since completing all updates via SIPS takes almost an entire day of monitoring, dealerships prefer not to do them unless it’s to resolve a problem for which they get higher compensation. In fact, they sometimes even lie, claiming all updates have been done. This happened to me initially, as I was told everything was up to date, but when I got my car back, I realized I was still on R21.

Ran the R63 update from here yesterday.
The car claimed it was successfully installed, but also claims to still be on R24!
