After seeing some posts regarding the MG4 I thought I would share my thoughts with you .I have an 2024 MG 4 Trophy Extended range .All updates carried out . It is without doubt one of the best cars I’ve ever owned/driven. Never had any problems apart from the windscreen washers been completely useless. Having to reset everything every time is slightly irritating.
I just love driving it .Seems very well put together and the range is excellent.HVAC is a challenge ,but I’m used to it now . My wife drives a 2024 MG3 Trophy again no problems.Lovely drive .

Agree that it's the best car I've ever driven, agree that it's a damn fine looking car ( especially in orange ). Also agree that there are a fair few niggling issues that are starting to annoy me. The blank infotainment screen upon start up, the never ending pairing of the mobile phone, the fact it can't be driven 5 feet without the seatbelt on, the dark rear seats ( which I didn't think I'd care about but I kinda do ), the radio which is downright dangerous to get a saved station through the touch screen and the non adjustable passenger seat. Still lots to love but a few things that get on my nerves. All first world problems I suppose.

… and all the above is just about the car. Just wait until you need/want something doing with an MG dealer or MG UK

Yes it can, put foot on brake and release the ebrake next to the 'R', 'N', 'D' control knob.

This depends on the incline the car is on, in certain cases the car absolutely refuses to move unless you have your seatbelt secured.

I've never had a problem on any incline without a seatbelt. In fact just 30 mins I stopped on a steep incline which where the car would roll back very quickly in 'N' from a standstill. Stopped, put it in 'P', seatbelt off, foot on brake, release ebrake and drove away. Works every time.

Mines the same , but I have to put it in D , if its in P you will need to have it taken in to the nearest dealership as an urgency! Or should we put it down to a pre-caffeine posting ?

I've had many ICE cars since 1975 and 99% of the time the wife drives (I've been with her 51 years). Since having the MG4 a year ago I pick the keys up first.

I have no idea what you're on about with the wiper blades though.
I also have no idea why when turning a corner the camera comes on, what's that for?

I turned that off after a while - I need the satnav; I can do visual checks for scallies creeping up beside me

Wipers are solveable as you can imagine, the reset of things is only annoying until the car teaches you to stop changing them

And then it kinda works.

The last update i got OR a video i watched recently solved the AC for us. But i no longer set it to 28C, after some video that said if we set the home AC to 21C in winter, why set the car higher? Was a valid point and i have not moved from 21C since.

This update did start remebering the distance from other cars, so that is a step back for me.

However, i drove about 20ish different cars for about 2 years before we purchased the MG4. All car shared or rented modern cars, most electric as well.

I fully agree the MG4 Trophy Extended Range is such a great car to drive. All the above are just some nitpicking small stuff, and the only flaws i could find.

Loving our MG4 and all it's 48.000 km driven. Even on multi day/multi week road trips, it never felt like 'enough of this'.

I do feel this kind of vibes are rare here, and thanks for posting your message, it got me thinking we should sometimes stop focusing only on the problems that mainly bring us here.

Yep, I meant 'D' from 'P' then realease ebrake and foot off brake pedal. Inclines are not an issue at all, up or down without the seat belt engaged.

Yep me too, my drive is on a slope and every so often it used to refuse to move until the seatbelt was buckled. Bit of of a pain when washing the car and just moving in and out of garage.
