MG4 tyre pressures - comfort and economy

I put 36 PSI all round but that is on all my cross climate 2 tyres. My original Bridgestone tyres were inflated all to 37 PSI

I did 38 psi fronts and 40 rear on continentals

Be careful about putting too much pressure in the tyres. I put an extra 5 psi in my rear tyres of my Ford Focus when I went from Derby to Plymouth to catch the ferry. This was within the recommended pressure for a fully loaded car. Handling was fine but it caused castellation/sawtoothing of the rubber blocks on the inside of the rear tyres which manifested as an annoying hum. The only cure was to replace the tyres

Is under 4.0 dire for winter with that mix? Doesn’t sound too bad to me.

The heater and required battery heating hit efficiency. In my SR I get around 3.2 in winter with heating and about 4.5 or so when no heating. But of course heat is often not optional. Given how cheap electricity is I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

I'm not - considering I posted that over 2 years ago before I had my MG4!

I'm getting around 3.5 most of the time in winter with my LR Trophy, but only on longer journeys, short journeys much less. I love pre-heating the car and I don't care that it eats the battery, I'm just plugging in every day to keep it topped up!
