MG4 Windscreen Quality

Has anyone else had issues with the MG4 windscreen, just the smallest stone touching the screen and it chips, on my 3rd chip now

I thought so. Went to Carglass to get it fixed (by insurance).
Reply was "okay, you are here now, so we will fix it. But it's that kind we all have to live with". I. E. He was softly telling me that I was too touchy I respect the honest reply from a person making money on me being "touchy"

I have a couple of chips in the top right hand corner of the screen courtesy of a Porsche, Cayenne. The stone hit hard at an upward angle and I expected a crack to develop but instead there are just a couple of small chips, almost like dirt speck marks.

I had a stone hit so hard it scared me, but it only left a short row of three tiny chips.

I have my suspicions re quality but it's difficult to say for sure. The local councils in the UK have never been more penniless if they're to be believed and this is reflected in the conditions of the roads surfaces nationwide I think.
The screen on mine lasted 2 years almost to the day before a large stone destroyed it beyond repair, there were numerous small chips beforehand but none that overly bothered me or would fail an MOT.
The Autoglass supplied replacement is pretty much blemish free a couple of months in but I doubt that will last

I did wonder about this. Back in December we had to have a new screen after a stone caused a large crack. It was replaced with a genuine MG by Autoglass however the replacement had a manufacturing defect so a week later we were back for another replacement. Then just a few days later another small stone hit the windscreen and caused a small chip. Thankfully this was repairable however it does seem strange that such small impacts caused so much damage both time.
In comparison my Ford Ranger has only had one replacement screen in 8 years and my Rover Sterling is still on the same screen it left the factory with in 1991!

My local council (Cheshire East) , very slow to repair pot holes but quick to renew speed camera road markings

Just before its second service was due, the windscreen of our MG4 developed a crack that started beneath the level of the bonnet and well out of the line of fire for stone chips. As we sat in slow traffic with the screen heater on to prevent misting up, we watched the crack gradually propagate upwards.
I enquired about a repair but was told the crack was beyond the 4cm limit specified in the MOT and although it was not hindering the driver's line of sight, it was technically unroadworthy and had to be replaced.
