How has the SOH improved?

I don't think that is for NMC.

Both NMC and LFP batteries need balancing periodically to get best performance.

AFAIK, every EV make has some sort of battery calibration procedure, regardless of the cell chemistry.

There is even some cryptic entry under HV battery maintenance in the MG5 manual
