Thought I’d share a pic of some new tyre valve caps I got from AliExpress. Nice finish , solid metal with an internal sealing rubber washer. For £2.22 I thought they were excellent value. Currently 52% off.

I’ve got a rear left-hand tyre that is slowly losing pressure and so have been keeping an eye on pressures , but must have misplaced a cap as found one to be missing. These metal caps with a logo I thought were worth a punt, am delighted with the result , much better than the original plastic ones.

I just found this on AliExpress: £4.57 | 4pcs Car Tire Valve Caps Durable Wheel Stem Air Dust Cover Exterior Modified Accessories For MG ZS HS GT HECTOR MG3 MG5 MG6 MG7

A word of warning with metal valve caps. They look great but make sure to remove, clean and grease them regularly.
If they get a bit of “corrosion internally they are a devil of a job to remove for tyre pressure checks. Instead of unscrewing they can then actually turn the whole valve in the wheel.
I had that nightmare once and had to remove the tyres and replace the valves.

Thanks I did wonder about them sticking I didn’t know it was a thing, I’ll grease them up with some silicone. Really appreciate the heads up . I wonder if a thin wrap of plumbers PTFE might help . Or maybe I should bin them I find some decent rubber ones, don’t fancy them getting the stuck on.

Don't bin them they look great.
Bit of copper grease or similar, they'll be fine. More likely to get nicked, then seized on. 🙂👍

Anything that's electrically insulating will do the job. It's galvanic corrosion you are trying to prevent.
