Most useful MG4 accessory?

I totally forgot about having my frunk haha

I keep my V2L, type 2 cable, and 2kW charger in there, but I’ve got a 3,5kW evse bolted to the wall at home, so don’t have to access the frunk often anymore. I do really like having that stuff with me yet not in the way.
Now you have my attention, with no oil that needs checking, it only gets opened to refill the windscreen washer bottle, but the boot is so close and handy

Where do I buy a Frunk for my MG4? Pity they don't make one for a Gen 2 Prius, but it has that needy ICE stored in there .....

There are three main sources that I know off. An Austrian website, an Irish website (where I got mine) and now there is a place in Australia too. They all have slightly different frunks so see which suits your needs best. I’m pretty sure they all get spoken about here;

  • Rubber floor mats (original MG). The carpeted ones are really bad (even worse than in our MG ZS EV)
  • CarLink WLAN CarPlay dongle
  • Viofo two channel dash cam

I sort of wish I had gone with a dual camera viofo
It's connected via a hardwire kit. Due to the cable routing to the rear cam and the connection to the fuse box of the car, I paid a local company to do it. That was around 400€. So not really cheap. The car is on a lease and I have to park it on the street...so worthwhile I think.

The most useful for me are the short front seat buckle belt extenders, they allow you to drive the car without having to put your seatbelt on when manoeuvring the car up and down the drive, or in and out of the garage etc, it also allows you to put a bag of shopping on the passenger seat without the boing, boing, boing all the way home, but the main benefit is that it makes it so much easier to plug and unplug your seatbelt, without the extenders, the seat buckle is very low and quite difficult to access.
Yes!
I found it very difficult at first.

But after smashing my left ankle and being bedridden for so long, I lost 4 stone and now it is so much easier!

Well, I was expecting something about kids or elderly parents being unable to find the seatbelt buckles...
Yes, in our case, this was the reason. We regularly take Mrs S's parents out on trips and it's a pain having no light at all.

Japanese manufacturers are brilliant (excuse the pun...) at interior lighting.

Some things shouldn't be penny pinched. They put one in the boot, they could have put one in the back.

Or, if they really only wanted to put one, they could have stuck a round one in the middle of the headlining to cover back and front.

I've got to ask... what do people do in their cars that the light in the rear is such a big deal???

I didn't even notice there wasn't one, and couldn't tell you whether my last car/s had one. The one in the front is bright enough on the rare occasion I need it.

I've even read of people suggesting the new S5 is a worthwhile upgrade on the MG4, because it has a light in the rear....😀
Yes agree with your comment. Some of the reviews of the MG4 made so much of the lack of lights in rear area..

Wireless Android auto adapter and tray liner for phone charge tray. Never had an issue with the phone shooting off under acceleration since installing tray insert

Could someone suggest which wirelessCarPlay adapter will work best for my MG4? I bought a mini adapter which works well but because of the slow start up time of the car I have to constantly unplug it then plug it back in again for it to work. I noticed a couple of you have mentioned the Carlink. Which model seems to work best for you guys.
I have also changed the interior lights to LEDs. I thought this would be a daunting job but it’s pretty simple thanks to YouTube. Also, the small tray I got for the centre console he’s very handy.

There are many options in this previous thread >

When carrying children or grandchildren, rear lights become essential. From clipping in the rear seatbelts, to finding a dropped toy, they are needed.

Tray for the cubby hole in the arm rest.
The tray for keeping small stuff, coins etc.
And under the tray, your 10mm spanner 😉 cloth etc. Keeps it all tidy.

Plenty of other stuff, but probably not what you would call useful, as such.
But imo, enhances the MG4, makes it look better. 🙂👍
Where did you buy it please
