As I recall, it wasn't a comment from MG, it was a personal comment from Miles sharing his experience as a former refrigeration engineer. You could make the same argument for all the companies that have decided to include them.I don't have enough knowledge about if a heat pump is really worth it in a UK EV, but I think I would take it with a pinch of salt if a company that has decided they aren't going to fit them tells me they aren't needed.
Miles did a long bit on a recent podcast about why heatpumps in cars are not the answer to everyone's range prayers.
