New MG4 facelift version?

In the UK the new FWD version is (was?*) to be known as the MG4 Urban.

* there's some doubt as to whether the Urban will actually make it to the UK.

I don't think that name is confirmed - the model is definitely coming.

I'm just going by what the Dealer Principal told me (first sentence anyway, second sentence was something I read elsewhere here) when I was getting ERO serviced and MOT'd ... they know it as the MG4 Urban. That doesn't mean the name won't change though.

I read that they'll call it the MG4 Urban when it comes to us Down Under, so it would track if they do that across several markets. Although they have different spec level names everywhere, so maybe not...

You can't rely on what MG UK will do. It might be called that, or it might even have a different model number. It is definitely coming, I've had that confirmed, but the precise specification (which is up to MG UK) and name are TBC.

By the way, it probably won't be exactly the same as the Brazillian version in the video, local markets have different features/equipment etc... but the interior does give a good idea of what it will be like.

Intirior mirror lights (like at MG3)
Ventilated wireless charger (non Ventilated is unuseful
OTAs

Can be nice to have:
Ambient lighting- most of Chinese cars have.
Colorful UI
better ADAS - for exemple self parking or LCA.
Better Phone Key technology

OTAs are coming (allegedly!). The other stuff all adds cost, so MG UK, when they are planning the import of a new model or version, look at it and say: "Do we want to offer this and increase the price, or keep the price low because people won't miss it?".

I suspect a lot of people would rather have the low price than all the bells and whistles - and the reason they don't offer them as options is to keep factory costs down, frankly we are lucky there's a choice of colours and trims at all!!
