What Car did a comparison recently of the new Standard model versus the higher spec models. Their conclusion was that (especially if buying on PCP or leasing) that the extra £7k or so for the next higher spec version was better value.

Edit: sorry - it was the Model Y, but I'd imagine that they'd come to the same conclusions with the Model 3.

Yeah next model 3 up has all the bells and whistles and the larger battery (over 400 miles range) £45k
I think they removed more from the Y, pan roof etc.

The base model used to be 39,990 (avoiding the luxury tax) now 5,000 dearer ! Longer range and improved but still up bit of a hike, making the Standard only just less than the original.

The next model now called premium is the old long range rwd which is the same price as it always was £44995
And always had extra features over and above the old standard range

The new standard range as you say is £2k cheaper (no rear screen, rear heated seats) no ambient lighting, cloth seats, manual seat adjustment.
Still has panoramic roof and a slightly longer range (332 miles)

Personal choice if you think the £2k saying is worth losing those items.

It's not 2k though is it if buying new as the option to buy the new standard has replaced the old standard at reduced price and spec, the next option up is 7k dearer.

£2k cheaper than the old standard range £37k instead of £39k.
Still plenty of the original standard model available from inventory.
