I some times get this so I believe it will work on 4

Not had any luck using it with my 4. Only thing I get get it to view is odometer

Also when I leave the obd reader plugged in it is triggering alarms from SIAC that there has been an abnormal intrusion in the car. (Text and email)

Tried multiple dongles that work fine with other cars

Year this happens with ZS as well with a lot of OBD2 dongles but the one I use now don't trigger the alarm
Which one are you using now?
EDIT: DOH, you've shared that on post #7

I get this yes but no really useful other data, I'm sure at some point they will config sorted to read and display more info.

Thanks to the video below I have been able to retrieve some data from my MG4:

The PID lists are for the ZS EV and MG5 and can be found on Github here. I imported all of them and connected to the car and looked at which ones were returning reasonable data.

So far I think I have access to SOH, battery current, battery power, battery voltage and battery temperature along with some others. There is also max battery charge but this could also be max battery discharge.

I swear I tried all of this before but it didn't work. The only difference this time was fixing the "preferred OBD protocol" to ISO 15765-4 CAN (11bit 500k baud) in the vehicle profile.

Can anybody with ABRP data connection and a SOH <100% confirm that the Torque value matches ABRP?

Hi,

Are you still using Torque with these PID ? Is it working ? Did you have a SOH below 100 % ?

Thanks

No, I use Car Scanner now as it has a profile for the MG4. My SOH is still 100% but if it is like the ZS it will not change until 1 to 2 years old.

They probably add a buffer to avoid cars being delivered new with, let's say, 98% SoH. Maybe there's a way to get raw readings above 100%. That was the case with my old Kia Soul MK1.

Anyways, don't worry too much about SoH; your battery should outlive your vehicle.

They add a buffer of a couple of percent top and bottom to prevent the batteries ever being absolutely full or absolutely empty, to extend battery life. The capacity figures given, I believe, exclude these buffers.

Thanks, I also have 100% SOH with CarScanner, however I wonder if this value is true or not. It is the same on my father MG Marvel R, which have almost 2 years, 35 000 km ans SOH si still at 100%.

Each and every battery degrades over time, so after two years, your father’s Marvel R battery has a marginally lower capacity than when it was new. However, the decrease is probably unnoticeable.

Battery degradation often reaches a plateau at around 90% of their original capacity after a few years.

I connect my MG4 to A Better Route Planner via a bluetooth OBD reader and it reads the SoC and uses it in the live routing calcs. It's ace.
If worked in both my SE SR and my XPower.

I've just got an obd reader and plan to use it with abrb too. Do you have to unplug the obd reader after each use?

It's best to, as the OBD dongle will remain live and drain the 12V battery. (There's a permanent 12V pin at the OBD port).
