Odometer vs Miles

Arrived home a few days ago on exactly 1000 miles according to the odometer. Being a numbers guy this is about as exciting as my world gets. But what peaked my interest is the miles figure in the top right of 992.1. Wonder what happened to the other 7.9. ?‍

Could be but we have also heard about the odometer under-reading: perhaps one is the true figure and the other off somewhat?

Here's another (related) theory: we know that the MG4 speedo is bang on actual speed, which is unusual, since it normally cars over-read by 5-7%. So a 10 mile journey in most cars might only be 9.95 in the MG4, hence why some people are reporting an under-reading ODO. That would mean that the efficiency of the MG4 is actually slightly better than reported compared to others.

Of course, there could just be a glaring calibration error somewhere, would not surprise me! - eg it was calibrated on different sized wheels.

That's an interesting observation - after all the base SE in the EU has (had?) 16" wheels rather than 17".

The difference is similar on my Trophy. I assumed delivery and delivery-cgeck miles. Will reset and monitor the 2 readings over time.
