Out of date navigation

Whilst navigating on on holiday, the maps proved out of date when they showed me driving through empty space on a relatively new road near Northampton. I tested this against Google maps and Waze using Android auto, and they were sufficiently up-to-date. I'd like to update the maps for the built in navigation, but can't find how, or if it's even possible. My car is a 73 plate MG ZS EV Trophy long range, if that's relevant.

I had ignition on and therefore effectively ready to drive. It might be possible in standby but I had plenty of charge and I wasn't sure if there might be a turn off time on standby. I downloaded from the (https://www.mgmotor.eu/storage/map-data/maps.zip) site, but as I say it took a while...

I updated mine but it was a bit of a pain downloading and updating... you are much, much better off connecting your phone to the car and using Google maps or Waze, you get up to date maps and live traffic + EV chargers along the road ... etc ...
The latest MG maps are September 2023 if I remember correctly

When I need navigation, I don't use the MG one ...

I always use Google Maps, press the speech button on the steering wheel and tell it where you want to go and it does it, even with the non connect car version as you are using android auto.

I use Apple maps - much the same I suppose - I just say ‘Siri, take me to……’
Much less hassle than keying in on the built in satnav.
