Common pattern forming here me thinks .
Sounds like they have had a bad batch of faulty T boxes to me !.
Which does confirm that even new cars can have parts failures then .

When a parts buyer doesn't read the fine print on the great price they managed to source a required item ..... small details like QC 1/1000 rather than 1/100. If 1 unit is tested in every batch of 1000 and it comes up to be within spec, that is taking quite a gamble that the other 999 are also be within spec .... check 10 units out of each batch of 1,000 and they all meet specs, there is fair level of confidence that batch will be mostly good

MG Technical have decided the car needs the T-Box replacing!

My S5 is currently in for investigation, nothing yet heard after 3 days!

Don't panic; it took more than a week of diagnostics for MG to finally admit the need to make this change!

I'm collecting my New MGS5 in a couple of weeks should I ask my dealer about this?
What is a T box ?

It handle the connectivity to the web etc. When it fails the SOS call fails as does thesat nav, mg app etc
