Plastic protection panels

Has anybody looked at the possibility of adding damping to the underbody panels on the MG 4.
They appear to be quite floppy, and do wonder if they accentuate drumming from coarse road surfaces etc.

I noticed a couple of previous cars I had with underbody panels had a thin layer of sponge on the top.
