Post a Pic

Out for a walk yesterday...

That looks a proper lighthouse. It's a pity it doesn't seem to be one of the lighthouses open to the public looking at the Northern Lighthouse Board website.
I've visited quite a few that are open to the public in the south west. Portland Bill lighthouse I've been to on numerous occasions, once encountering its fog horn in operation!
Fabulous pieces of engineering especially the lens assembly. Although weighing some 3.5 tons it can be moved with one finger mainly due to the incredibly low friction as it floats in a bath of mercury. The replacement stepper motor drive is now only 10's of watts.

Finally booked a short trip up to see the Kelpies and a visit to Stirling castle at the beginning of next month. Unfortunately it will be a bit of a rush, only 2 nights, due to other 'stuff' but looking forward to it.
Will hopefully post some pics.
Have seen that the park and ride for Stirling has 72 chargers in the car park, I will definitely be utilising them. :)

There’s a couple of chargers at the Kelpies car park but they don’t appear to be in use yet. There’s a bunch of them at the Falkirk football stadium type2 and CCS as very pleasant walk away.
I was over at the Kelpies trying my bike the other day. I parked at the first park as it was free. Just as I unloaded the bike I noticed they had installed parking meters 😱. I went over to pay and found a sticker saying no charge after 14:00. Checked my phone (don’t even own a watch these days). It was 14:03 🤩. What a joyful cycle I had 😂
The only downside was the bike for some reason would not pass by the ice cream van. 👌

MG4 took us to Cornwall this year for our family holiday. Was pleasantly surprised to find the holiday lodge we booked had an EV charger (wasn't advertised, they're missing a trick as all the lodges have them)

While there we visited Golitha Falls.

Also went to Carnglaze Caverns. This lake is crystal clear, you can see to the bottom. Being so clear it is deceptive how deep it is. It's 9 metres deep.
