Post a Pic

There’s a couple of chargers at the Kelpies car park but they don’t appear to be in use yet. There’s a bunch of them at the Falkirk football stadium type2 and CCS as very pleasant walk away.
I was over at the Kelpies trying my bike the other day. I parked at the first park as it was free. Just as I unloaded the bike I noticed they had installed parking meters 😱. I went over to pay and found a sticker saying no charge after 14:00. Checked my phone (don’t even own a watch these days). It was 14:03 🤩. What a joyful cycle I had 😂
The only downside was the bike for some reason would not pass by the ice cream van. 👌
We are heading up on Wednesday this week and it looks like the weather is going to do 'a Scotland' on us 😀 , well it wouldn't be Britain if you didn't get wet.
Hopefully be at the Kelpies for about 2:30pm ish for a wander round and a coffee. Planning to stop at Tebay Northbound on the way up approx 75 miles in and 2 hours into journey then rest of journey up approx 2 and a half hours for the remaining 144 miles.
I was not planning on charging on the way up but we'll see how the weather and speed affects the range.
Visiting Stirling and the Castle on the Thursday and then The Wheel for a boat trip on the Friday morning before setting off home and stopping at Tebay Southbound on the way home.

Tebay northbound has 12 or 13 chargers at a fairly reasonable price. ABC!

Ah but they're at 66p / kWh, I was hoping to take advantage of your Scottish hospitality and find a cheaper place. 😂

Seriously though I like to see the practical limits of what the car can achieve, you never know I might need to know for real one day.

If I think it's going to be at all close I can always stop at Tesla Gretna (140 miles) at 56p/kWh or Larkhall (200 miles) at 52p.

In fact Larkhall sounds like a decent place to top up for pootling about while we're up and then filling on the return.

The Larkhall Tesla superchargers are at the back of the car park of the Radstone Hotel, just off the A71. (It's only about 5 or so miles from me). :)

I'm not sure if you need to register your car in the hotel whilst using them. Zapmap says re. parking: "Charges may apply".

There's also a FastNed site in Hamilton, just off J6 of the M74, in the Palace Grounds retail park.

Larkhall. Where I have to go the day after tomorrow for some fancy dental work. So close to home I have no idea where the chargers are, but the place is such a tip it's always a surprise to me to find there's a hotel there at all!

To be fair, the Radstone isn't in Larkhall itself - it's almost a mile outside of it.

PS - don't wear green if going to Larkhall. Even the traffic lights have wire mesh over the green light. Blue is fine though. ;)

I think he also went back to work so less time on his hands

I have heard it said that they paint their kerbstones red, white and blue, though I'm not aware of ever having noticed it.

I must have been the last kid in the Lanarkshire Schools Youth Orchestra to realise why the flute lessons were so popular, or what my little friends were doing at weekends. When I found out I was quite shocked. "You should come," they said, "it's just a bit of fun." I said something about nuking from orbit. Someone said, "Are you a Catholic?" I said no, I was merely appalled.

The village I was born and brought up in is only about three miles from Larkhall, but we didn't do the Orange thing at all.
