I have a standard MG4 , and I registered that my consumption is rocket high compare to test. In average 26 - 28 kWh/100 km
Is this as expected ?

WLTP range (which equates to efficiency) is based on a set of controlled conditions and ambient temperature at 20+ °C. Driving style and lower ambient temperature will have a massive impact on efficiency/range. And the LFP pack in the SE SR particularly doesn't like really low temperatures.

No, people buying EVs in cold areas should be aware of the limitations in cold conditions. Even ICE cars suffer with reduced efficiency in cold conditions - it's just that an ICE is so inherently inefficient that the reduced efficiency isn't as noticeable.

And anyone who truly believes they will get WLTP figures year round needs to give their head a wobble. (Unless they live somewhere where the temperature remains 20+C year round).

Are you doing any battery pre conditioning? At -5 C it would probably make a difference.

For every 5 degree increase in ambient temperature I noticed my car getting more efficient, above 10 deg C it easily maintains 3 miles/kWh (20.7 kWh/100 km) which is what it will need to achieve to get close to WLTP

I agree. But tests done here in Norway shows half of what I get.
We all know that WLTP is just guidelines. But I compare with other tests done by Norwegian magazines

That's a decent period for doing the calculation. Your figures are certainly low compared to averages seen in the UK but you can never be sure whether you are comparing like with like when these comparisons are made.

Seems about right, my Luxury is in the same balpark in winter here at the coast of Norway (Sunnmøre) in those temps.
Much better at +7 - 10 C.

Oh. I do not do economy driving, just normal driving with the heater on 26-28C and heated seats and steering wheel heat one. What to say, I like comfort. In fact my Luxury was pinned at 29kw/100km at the worst. Since the car only show up to 30 and not over one have to measure and calculate a bit to see more of the truth, think I made it all up to 32kw/100km at the worst this winter (snow, -10C or more, +++ of the winter joy).

How much are you using the heating/air conditioning? If you are dong short journeys this will use a high proportion of power.

A lot, as in always. ? And yes it does. Had a little electric van as a courtesy car and in that I had to kill the heater to get home to charge, it was quite a big difference in consumtion to be honest.

Do you get the heat pump in Norway as standard ?

As Anon70 says above have a look at the Bjorn Nyland videos. He recently did a few on the Xpower in very cold temps. He's probably done the SE SR a while ago too.

At 0c temps I never get above 2.0 mls/kwh (30 Kwh/100 km) on short journeys due to the heating taking up a big percentage of the power.

I think the EU gets a heat pump in the Trophy+ versions, but not in the SE versions?

I have had the same consumption on my SE SR in Ukraine since I bought it in December 2023. But now, as it becomes warmer, with temperatures around +14°C, the consumption decreases to 15-18 kWh/100 km.

Yes, I went to the dealership to check, I have the same car. They told me basically everyone who bought the car has come to check the same thing. Cold weather annihilates the battery ????

Same here although our temperatures tend to stay in the +2 - +12 region most of the winter, I have aircon at 25 plus heated seats and steering wheel most of the time. Still getting 17-21 kWh/10km and happy with that!

I don't know how I knew, it must have been mentioned on some of the videos I binge-watched when I decided to get an EV. I remember sitting in the dealer's showroom (on Easter Saturday last year as it happens) saying, will I be able to get to Glasgow and back (about 100 miles) in sub-zero temperatures at motorway speeds with the heating on, because that's my red line. The guy really wanted to sell me the LR but he was truthful and said yes, easily.

Looking at this thread make me realise temperature really do make a big difference. Here the temperature has been around 18-30 degs for the last month. On suburban road (~60-70km/hr) I get 9-12kwh/100km. On highway (100-120km/hr) I get around 15kwh.
