Problem binding MG5 to phone

My apologies for posting this on the MG 4 forum, but... my son has bought an MG5 22 plate privately and cannot get the car to bind with his phone. There is no User guide on the infotainment screen and no QR code showing. The local dealer is Richmond's in Guildford who said they wouldn't help him as he didn't buy the car from them. He thinks the car is probably still bound to the previous owner. Would it be a good idea to Reset to Factory Settings, or would this delete any software updates installed in previous services.

Send an email to [email protected] explaining the situation, including the VRM and VIN details and a copy of the sales receipt. They should hopefully be able to help get the old binding removed.
