This was probably done to death a couple of years back but we have just got new guests arriving and they have a early 23 Trophy in silver. So this is the first time mine has been side by side with a half brother giving me the chance to re-visit the compare charts. Just going off looks and not getting into different interiors and gizmos I am pretty pleased I chose the SE LR or SE if its just the styling . The back end just looks a lot tidier with the uptilted duck tail , and without the spoilers ( which originally I liked ) its just smoother and better balanced . I like the rear looks of mine but somehow the Trophy , with just a couple of changes looks "wrong" . Maybe the black roof breaks up the flow of styling from front to rear with its blocky looks , if the spoilers were black it might improve it? The roof on mine is body colour which just seems nicer in joining the front to the back seamlessly.
Front end , for me the Trophy has it hands down , nicer headlights and side indicators filling that void is just a lot classier , I like mine but it does show a bit of unnecessary cost cutting? ( its most likely more expensive to make two differing sets of headlights ) just to introduce a premium feel . Imagine the loss of revenue from minor front end corner bumps which need new indicators when half are built into the headlight which escaped the damage.!
I was thinking this might divide opinions but seeing as a lot have now gone onto MG5Ss you probably won't care as the MG4 is now old hat.

Yep, different headlight technologies too. The SE has projector headlights, where the LED passes through a lens out of the headlight. The Trophy however has reflector headlights where the LED's are mounted low pointing towards the rear of the headlight and uses a reflector assembly to point the light forwards out of the headlight.
The SE has blanks fitted where the indicators are fitted in the Trophy

I'm also happy with my SE LR. I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles, and having been on this forum for a while it sounds like some of those extra bells, like the rear centre LED spoiler can be problematical. The only thing that I would consider a downside is the 17" wheels instead of 18" ones. Tyres are more expensive for odd number wheels sizes. I guess they are less common.

We have the best of both worlds... One of each!

Both have aftermarket fangs... That improves the front end of the Trophy and SE

I prefer the look of the Trophy but hey, each to their own.

*Actually they're an 'Essence Long Range 77" and "Excite 51". Both White. We have different model names here in Australia.

** Are the rear sun shades on the MG4 "spoilers" ?
AI Overview
No, the rear sun shades on the MG4 are not spoilers. They are vortex generators, designed to improve airflow and reduce drag at the rear of the car. These "wings" create vortices that fill the low-pressure area behind the car, which can be a source of drag, especially in a hatchback like the MG4.

I think @Jamesrr this is what is being referred to, the light assembly across the back of the Trophy

More comparisons........ The silver Trophy which is 9 months older and with 3 times the mileage does not appear to have any stone chips on its front end/ bonnet whereas my orange one has suffered around a dozen , none glaringly obvious , but still there. I still prefer the orange, but really!
