new to this group hi, and picked up a 2021 PHEV last Saturday
strange issue
rear washer wiper has no fluid coming out of the nozzle, worked once since collecting the car,
noticed the water was spraying nearly over the roof ?, but then no water at all
so after reading the forum and checking a few mentioned items
front washer ok and spray as expected
rear washer no fluid can’t here the pump running
checked nozzle seems clear
no water under the car at the rear and front
its strange that when I twist the switch I would expect some noise none, is there another fuse that drives the rear washer pump

On the right side of the car in the engine you will see the brake servo look to the left side and follow the the brake pipe to the bulkhead. Ask some one to run the washer for the back window and you will see water coming out of a hole and will see a pipe hanging down where it has come off and will see water on the floor. It’s not the easiest pipe to get too and will need something very long to get it back on. In the end my dealer repaired this for me by stripping out the brake servo.
If this is not the point you need to look at the boot tailgate as pipe can come off in there.

isn’t it the same pump which goes in reverse for the washer to rear window. Check your washer water level. Had the issue a few weeks ago, topped up and all was well.

Hi all. Ok, this is a known fault with the hs, I am booked in for the third time this pipe has come off, as soon as the weather gets freezing the pipe blows off, I don’t know what the fix is but just putting the pipe on doesn’t work, I am booked in for 12 feb for this to be done. I will let you know their response. They told me they glued and used a clip last time…. Dealers eh !

Today the rear wiper water feed stopped spraying. The pump motor can be heard spinning and wiper sweeps but no wate (other than a minscule dampness around the center housing). Fronts are fine.
My dealer had a look this morning and after about an hour reported that the washer fluid was too thick and in the cold had changed from liquid to a gooey stodge. Apparently the exit hole was very small and had got blocked. I have always used 60/40 or 50/50 in winter and 70/30 in summer screen wash without problems and used the same in this car since new in 2022.
Assuming they had cleared it I drove off and half way home tried the pump again, no liquid spray.
I returned home and phoned them again, they suggested flushing out the washer bottle and using plain water and to try again. Other than that they suggested a new Pump & Filter, an hours work and £130+VAT should fix it.
As the pump is working maybe it is just a pipe pushed off, I cannot see a flood under the car so would assume that would indicate the entry/feed pipe was off. I can hear the pump but not see it.
Any one had and fixed this problem, or can point me in the right direction for the pump?

I would have said pipe off in engine bay next to brake servo or know to come off in tail gate, but stumped now.

Hi J. Long time no posts. :)

I am a bit stumped as well, if it was the tailgate I am sure some water would be sloshing about inside but all's quiet. no water on drive so logic says its got to be on the feed side..... somewhere. If it means removal of the bottle, which means a lot of other stuff also needs removing it's back to the dealers. :-(

Hi A
When the temperature rises a bit over night check you get a good spray on the front window the try the back one but run for a round 10 to 15 seconds if that pipe is off you should see water at the back of the front right wheel, if drive has a slope point the car forward as there is like a tray area under the servo. I found it this way on HS, also what make of screen wash are you using as some can in to a stodgy in cold weather.

The front spray is over the roof, I ran the rear pump many times and for much longer than 15 seconds. I think it is Halfords screenwash. Always get a concentrated 5L can and dilute it. FAR cheaper than the ready mixed stuff . My drive does point down so that will help, if the pipe is below the bottle I will phone Bushey and book it in. My arthritis does not allow me to bend and crawl as I used to do. And in any case it is too cold out to mess around !
