Replacing license plate bulb

Hi guys,

Just put my 69-plate MG ZS EV through its MOT and it passed with one advisory - the license plate bulb.

I looked at the manual and got a new matching bulb, but it seems clear as mud on how to actually replace it.

Are there any useful guides or videos anywhere on how to do this? I've had a quick look on YouTube but nothing seemed to jump out at me.

should be in the instruction manual online, I remember seeing it ... page 274; check whether it's the same for your model, should be

Like I said, I did look in the manual, but it wasn't very clear or useful. Something about removing the bumper.

this might help? seems to be a bit more complex than necessary for lightbulbs that need changing fairly often ...

You can reach the lampholder by lay down on the ground, take your arm under the rear bumper, and feel your way to the lampholder. Then squize the leap at one side off the lampholder and push it down.

Just lie on ground and insert screwdriver into one side of holder and pry down. It will drop and pull out of holder as other side is held in.
Done the 2 in 2 minutes.

Blimey, if there were ever a bulb that should be replaced with a LED it must be this one.

Would be ideal if someone made a whole replacement with watertight housing to swap it out.

Failing that, i would probably replace with a LED, make sure it made good connection with the socket and just glue the whole assembly shut to prevent water ingress
