Resonating bass cabin noise when driving

Hey, first of all .
My native language is Dutch so sorry in advance for spelling errors.

I have the MG4 Lux 2023 model and I have driven almost 5000 km with it and I am very happy with the car.

But only 1 thing is very annoying.
When I am driving on a well paved road (asphalt) it is fine.
But when I am driving on country roads (concrete with tar in between) and in particular cobblestone roads there is a lot of vibration in the cabin. It is a deafening bassy-like noise, so much that the ears hurt from it.

Do you guys (and girls) have this problem also or how can I get rid of it?

It would make the car perfect.

It's probably the tyres. Try different tyre pressures.

The tyres are at 2.5 bar what would you recommend?

2.5 is the recommended but try 0.1 or 0.2 bar up or down to see if it improves it or makes it worse.
If it makes no difference then try a different brand of tyres.

2.55 bar (37 psi) is the standard pressure. But as suggested, maybe try 2.6 or 2.7 ... 2.4 bar you could also try but this may lead to low tyre pressure warnings.

I would suspect the tailgate. Make sure it is tight on the rubber feet. Several model Y owners experienced this. Had to adjust those rubber thingies.

I have looked to the rubber things but i don't understand how to turn them in or more out. They are firm in place.

If you're looking at the right rubber thingies you turn them 90 degrees, pull them out a bit then turn them back.

I get the rumble as well, it's the tyres and changes depending on the road surface. It only seems to be the tyres fitted to the 18" wheels on the updated model.

-then it's possible to pull on Theo
-then lock again by turning?

And about the tires. Does someone have changed them (with the 18inch)and have the resonance removed?

To be honoust, I'm hesitant to say what I did could help you. There are many possible causes for a rumble or whatever noise. Mine came a vibration in the steering wheel. At first I had flattened rubber with the original 18 inch Bridgestones. Noew I have softer all weather Pirellis and still the rear right tire is bad. I will have it replaced today and hopefully this will solve things. Noise and vibration.
Even the dealer admitted the 18 inch cause a lot of trouble for them.

Could you reply in this thread if it helps for you. Then i will consider changing tires also. But they are very expensive, so just to try it's a bit to much.

Just got back. I do not have a Luxury but a Trophy ER btw.

After 4 new all season tires balanced and and aligned again rhings were still "shaking". Less, but enough to make it uncomfortable. I went for a road force measurement showing a bad right rear (middle radial had 'a bump'l. What followed was a correction of the steering wheel position with another alignment, and another new right rear balanced tire. The typical vibrations and the rumble are more or less gone. At least up till 125kmh.

What does remain is the tire noise from the 18 inch compared to 17 inch. I had another test run in the older luxury on 17 inches from the salesman while waiting for the tire change rhis morning. There is no doubt that more rubber contact causing more noise.

I will wait for a good offering to get a new 17 inch set with summer tires. It will drop the noise further and reduce power consumption. The 18 inch with all seasons will then be used during winter times.

If you do not experience a vibration in the steering wheel I would not expect a tire or rim issue. If there is a vibration (eirher constantly or different at various speeds) that is combined with the noise, get a hunter roadforce measurement to find out any structural disbalance. Have the alignment checked as well. If all ok, you at least know you should look for something else.

Common causes for any of my cars to have a bass rumble when driving is tyres or one of the plastic undershields coming loose on an edge (after hitting water at speed) and flapping in the turbulent air.

They undershield was warped when i got it but now all warp is gone . Don't know how. But it did

The tires are a big issue i think . I will change them in the near Future

I m seaeching solutions from about 1 year with a lot of specialist mechanical and tyres.

I found one of the causes in the suspension system

No tyres or rims. The same in opel zafira zero noise

Shocks and coils are defected or too strong so cannot working in the first part of movement, 1-5 mm. In pave road is a disaster: boom boom boom.

So i change all part with new original, the same but new date version and there is a good improvment. Less vibration and noise.

Other problems are in rear suspension silent blocks non correctly assembled but not symple to change

MG DEALER AND NATIONAL SUPPORT ARE VERY VERY BAD AND MALICIOUS.
ZERO TRUTH ASSISTANCE
I MUST GO AWAY AND PAY ALL

Other problem became from front upper cover, goes in resonance with tyre vibration, steerring links and clima pump jumping.

I translate all this observation, facts no words, as
I product the car to profit with, than consumer test it and i take zero assistance with part raplacement or car replacement. Consumer ar stupid and without finance to compete.

I try other mg4 and all are similar with defect but mine and other hVe serious problem in general
