Software Updates and Gearbox Oil at Service.

Just talked to a dealer about Exclusive first service and asked whether they will update software.
He said that as of the end of last year MG has told them not to update software unless there is a software fault.
Should have bought a Tesla which updates itself online, well half a Tesla for the same money!
Also asked about gearbox oil and they said it is sealed for life and MG hasn't even told them what oil it uses.
I recall someone posted that they had changed their oil, what does it use?

Gearbox oil is specified in the owner's manual.
Finding some is another matter however because it doesn't seem to be available anywhere in Europe.
Sounds like yet another dealer with a degree in BS.
