Yes you'd have loved this experience on the side of the B269 wouldn't you.
Well done @TimothyN, I use one of these to locate the wheels, it just screws into one of the bolt holes, the top one is best, then you slip the wheel onto it and slide it into position, it makes the job so much easier. The only difficulty, and it was a big difficulty, was getting the original wheel back on, which is not only a lot heavier, but you can't see the central hub. But that would be done by the garage IRL, so not a problem.

I bought a similar one of these myself and it was a big help !.Well done @TimothyN, I use one of these to locate the wheels, it just screws into one of the bolt holes, the top one is best, then you slip the wheel onto it and slide it into position, it makes the job so much easier.

Not really, it just means you have to a front/rear swap if the puncture is in a front tyre. A stiff chassis meant that the entire side of the car was lifted evenly regardless of whether you jacked at the front or the back so it's just a question of dealing with a few more wheel nuts.
There was no problem at all getting the wheel on the front. I didn't drive with it, but it span freely and was nowhere near the brake.

I think this is a winner!
And a big thank you to the bullies who made me do this. I would have been f**ked otherwise!

The second realisation was that, as they don't provide a spare wheel, they don't provide a brace. I sort of assumed that the people who provided the wheel and jack would also provide a brace, but the item I had, at a glance, assumed was a brace was only for raising the jack.
So Screwfix for a telescopic brace.
I’m interested to see if the recommended wheel actually fits as I’m reading conflicting reports as to the hub bore size being either 57.1 or 66.6 mm ( not the stud spacing which is 5x112 ). The rim size of 17 or 18 inches doesn’t matter so long as it clears the front brakes as the overall size is dependent on the tyre profile fitted.Hi Everyone This is my first post on our MGS5 ev Trophy long range. Collected the car about 3 weeks ago been following all the posts this is first chance I've had to send a reply.
Just ordered a spare wheel from thewheelshop18inch rim apparently they told me after checking with my reg number order the MGZS ev hybrid wheel and it fits the the S5 the hubs are the same spacing for the studs and THE OFFSET IS THE SAME. 3 day delivery so will check it on the car when it arrives. The man did say 18 inch rim so how come I am reading and seeing photos about 17 inch rims is this for the other models not the Trophy? anyone bought a spare for the Trophy on here?
Car is good very good
