Just picked up the new ZS EV today😊.

The audio warning when exceeding speed limit can be turned off, which I’ve done, but she’s still warning me! My wife says don’t exceed the speed limit which is a fair point but I’d really like this audio warning off.

Anyone experiencing this? I’m assuming it’s a bug preventing it from actually turning off.

Any help appreciated. If I hear from MG I’ll update here

My car just flashes the speed limit sign with no warning so it must be possible.
ZS EV Trophy SR bought new Sep 24, build date Mar 23.
Also my Lane Keep Assist is switched off and stays off each trip.

Same problem here with MG S5 excite.
Also fails to save any changes so each time you set off you have to make all your changes.
You can set a custom mode of how you want all your settings. It takes two button presses to activate each time you start. One to turn on custom settings and two to confirm you actually want it turned on. EU rules is why 2 presses are required. We mirror EU motor rules mostly.

I have an MG4 trophy and have never had any audible warning for speed limit, just speed sign flashing, my car is 2 years old

Turning off the audio warning when exceeding speed limit works on my ZS ( March 2025 ) but I did discover, when driving in France recently, the Sat Nav has an audio speed warnings for certain roads ( "Dangerous Areas" ) which certainly confused me when I thought I had switched the audio off, might it be that ?

Haven't spotted that setting on mine and like @pmrlabs it's been a frustration, where in the menu is Custom Settings ?

yes, there is a setting to disable the speed limit warning and there is setting to set up maximum speed exceeded warning - I set mine up at 70 so it beeps if I go 70 but only flashes speed sign if I go over 30 on a local road. Can't remember top of my mind what the settings are but spend 5 min on the infotainment looking through all the settings and you'll find it.

If you push the cruise control stick on the steering wheel as far towards the dash as possible it seems to turn all driver assist stuff off except for the collision alert. It also means the screen you prefer stays on the dash and does not default to the car picture every time.

I think that only turns off ACC / MG Pilot stuff? Now I'm unsure, will have to be more watchful at the next opportunity...

The max. speed warning is the one that is available via the small screen behind the steering wheel, correct? That might also be the one annoying you, brianboru55. The other settings are found in the infotainment.

I recently turned off all those satnav warnings too. Random bongs all the time, even when not using the satnav. When you ARE using it you see a little message telling you what the warning is about. Why they would still make it do the bong when you aren't using it and can't see what it's about is beyond me.
