I have just ordered a set to see if they are any good. For £25.00 they are worth a try.

These are the same ones I have in my basket

ah I was going to get these but added slightly more expensive ones to my basket because of that 1 star review and the slightly later delivery.

They look solid enough. I think most people do not realise it will make it harder to close.
I will feed back once I have them fitted. Probably this weekend.

I'll see how you get on with it, not in a rush to buy one yet as I have my bonnet struts/frunk to install this week/next week.

lol I have those to install as well. Doing boot first as looks easier lol
bonnet looks easier imo as you just need to install them and dont need to remove the old ones. I only really thought of doing bonnet first as its more common and I have a frunk on its way anyway.

It was the having to remove the bonnet lining and run the attaching rod through the bonnet. I will let you know how it goes
:)

I think my bonnets coming on like the 10th latest so if you still havent done it by then I'll let you know how mine goes and if I did anything specific to make it easier.

The mistake was doing the right thing, telling them.
Trust me I regret it, but I asked about a frunk and they seemed very relaxed about that so I didn't think it would hurt to tell them. At least with the tailgate ones its not noticeable.

Couldn't find anything about this so thought I'd make a post myself. Has anyone noticed on Aliexpress you can buy Gas Struts for the Tailgate/boot, it makes it so pressing the button for it on the key actually opens the boot but, you still have to close it yourself. Does anyone have one of these or know if they are any good?
Mrs S and I have each cracked our head on the tailgate recently having not realised that it's not fully open - in my opinion this at 9 months old is a safety issue and should be covered - the gas pressure should be specified to be enough to fully open th tailgate in winter down to a reasonably foreseeable temperature (-15C) and be enthusiastic in summer. Not yet had that conversation with Vertu ex BSM branch who have been less than virtuous so far which doesn't fill one with enthusiasm any more Ethan the 45 mile journey each way does. I'd be delighted to know if these you've found work when you fit them!

So I’ve fitted the electric lift and close to my mg4 and my wife love this because she always thought the hatch heavy to open and close
Hardest part of the fit is reading the instructions and fishing wires into the hatch was hard but the electrics work fine happy to answer any questions
